Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesPrices in Oregon are much higher than in Colorado, my home state. Not just in Astoria but state wide.
Breakfast was just some granola bars. That seems to be the trend. Other places I stayed in Oregon had nothing. I am used to real breakfast in my area.

United KingdomBathrooms could do with updating. A blind at the window would be good as only curtains so during the day people can look straight into the room.
Loved the quirky 60s vibe. Friendly staff, comfy bed. Didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment. Location ok. About a mile walk to historical district.

United StatesA/C and parking
Pastries and hot drink bar in the lobby was great. But the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. But, nobody told us they had no A/C in the rooms. I recommend only going in the winter. The parking is limited. We parked next door, it was a bit inconvenient considering we had a whole family and a lot of stuff.

United StatesThere was a window in our shower which had a lot of moisture damage and had lots of bugs in the crevices. We also had an upstairs neighbor who put their boots on at 5am and seemed to be moving the furniture, lol. Not the motels fault, but vinyl flooring might not be the best choice for the 2nd floor.
The nostalgic charm of this place is very cute. The staff were all very friendly, and the continental breakfast was nice. It’s definitely a bit run down, but was pretty clean. Beds were comfy and the room was nice and big.

United StatesNo air conditioning and I couldn’t get the water in the shower to stay at a good temperature. I guess it must have been hooked up with others taking showers. 🤷♀️
It was close to the ocean. Quaint motel decorated in a 50’s style. The workers were all friendly and helpful. It had a refrigerator, microwave, fan and coffee maker. It had a small, but decent breakfast that didn’t start till 8:00 am. Room was clean, a little old.

United StatesThe bathroom shower tiles were very clean, but the bathtub itself seemed to need more attention. The linoleum floor in the bathroom needs replacing or fixing some. Would suggest more lighting by the coffee maker area. The main issue was the noise from a large garbage truck collecting dumpsters from the restaurant next door at 3 am on a Sunday night/early Monday morning.
We like the 50's theme in the lobby and the cool red refrigerator, red mini-microwave and red coffee maker in our room. They all added to the atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and the products, i.e. soap, hand cream, shampoo and conditioner were very good. The communication from the motel is one of the best I have ever experienced.

United StatesThe only thing that I can complain about was the water pressure in the shower, the toilet was really low to the ground, and when we were trying to watch a movie it kept buffering. But we weren't there to watch TV it was just on while I finished a project I was doing. The continental breakfast did not have much of a variety and seemed pretty bland.
This was such the cutest little motel that I have ever seen.

United StatesParking lot was overflowing and tight. Would like a view of the water, but the price won out and I am still able to walk, so not a problem.
Had everything we needed and no posh unecessaries that drive up the price. Location was convenient to food and highways with stroll across the road to the view and river walk. Staff was helpful and friendly. Clean!

United StatesNo air conditioning (there aren’t many days in Astoria where it’s needed) but a nice breeze and a box fan cooked the room well enough. Breakfast was either muffins or pop tarts with coffee or hot water-based drinks.
