How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A door between the whole bathroom area and the room, both for light and noise reasons at night. But that’s a bit persnickety.
The breakfast was excellent, the wine and cheese was a lovely bonus experience, and my family loved the cookies. Parking was also great!

Check out time is 11 check in is 4 so seems odd that they would have a company come out before 11 to empty the septic tanks. We were slammed with the smell of human feces. Also we had to maneuver our luggage around the poop covered hoses and truck. This was the only bad part of the hotel but wow it stank.
They driver who takes you to the beach was absolutely wonderful he was so sweet and so kind! Super helpful being able to park in the lot at 12 even though check in wasn’t until 4.

The hotel front desk staffs were not as welcoming. Maybe they were just tired because it is the peak season, (Summer), I don't know. It is free to smile. Our room is located beside the elevator, and there are times we can hear the conversations of people outside while they wait for the elevator to come up.
Location: It was perfect. It is within walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Room: It was spacious and clean Breakfast: There is a variety of breakfast each day, the main breakfast is not buffet style, though, but it was not an issue for us. The pastries, cereals, fruits, and hot/cold drinks were unlimited. They serve cheese and wine every 5-6pm and chocolate chip cookies with milk by 8pm. They also have coffee and tea available 24/7, and iced tea and lemonade during the day in the lobby.

The plastic utensils they gave us to eat breakfast. The food was good but the plastic utensils were cheap and hard to use.
It’s close to everything and the atmosphere is comfortable.

The location is wonderful. Appreciated shuttle to and from the beach along with beach chairs and towels. The driver was awesome! Breakfast was just large enough with some nice options. The wine and cheese along with the milk and cookie gathering were such nice perks. The Cookies were great and the wine was much better than I expected. A beautiful immaculate Inn. Great staff!

It’s a bit pricey for being several blocks from the beach. The indoor pool was small and could use some updating.
Very clean and updated. Smelled great. Breakfast and additional amenities were very nice. Golf cart shuttle service to and from the beach with Lew was a great bonus!

Nothing - we have stayed here several times over the years. This was our first time “in season” and it was just as nice!
Close to the beach, large room, and the amenities are outstanding! Wine and cheese at 5:00, cookies at 8:00, beach chairs and towels, beach buggy, pool, hot tub, and sun deck, free parking, and delicious breakfast.

Everything was great ! Clean rooms, location near beach and shopping. Wine and cheese and cookies and milk complementary every evening. Free golf cart shuttle to the beach. Wouldn't change anything!

When I booked the room on booking.com it was not mentioned anywhere that the room type I booked was not in the main Avenue Inn & Spa building but at the more “motel-style” satellite location Avenue 2. It was very close by and a fine room and you still can use all the amenities offered by the main hotel and they were upfront about it in the follow up emails but it was a little confusing at first.
The location was excellent for the price and very close to everything the beach and boardwalk and shops. The staff was amazing and friendly and accommodating and the amenities offered like free wine & cheese hour were a huge plus!

The pool heater was broken most of the 4 days of our visit. (The pool was chilly, but usable).
Clean and very comfortable, nicely decorated. Great staff. All the extra touches made it even better — complimentary cooked breakfast; complimentary beach chairs and golf-cart shuttle to the beach; complimentary wine and cheese hour each evening.

Lack of elevator in our building
