The cost for a room that is old and a bit run down. The refrigerator froze everything in spite of the setting. The quilt was made of a polyester material that was slippery and kept falling off the bed.

    The location and good parking.

The location of our room was slightly below grade on the main street. Ashland is a quiet town so there weren’t many cars at night, but you can definitely hear them. My husband wore earplugs and the rest of us slept through the noise of the road. This is a sprawling hotel with several buildings, so if you don’t require a suite, asking for a room farther from the main road would be advisable. The room also showed some wear. There were some dents and cracks and one towel had a hole in it. This did not bother us, and everything was functional.

This was a basic and straightforward hotel in a very convenient location. We were staying in Ashland without a car, and the location of the hotel allowed for this. We slept well. We had a suite that was a great layout for our family, the kids loved the pool and the pancake machine at breakfast. Breakfast also included eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt, granola, pastries, and etc.

We had breakfast every day. Two days were fine (actully very good), but the third day (Sunday) had very poor service. The woman taking care of things the two good days was quick to serve, clean up and keep the room neat. On Sunday, the person who was supposed to help had to be asked for everything. She paid no attention to the guests and did not even empty the trash cans, which were overflowing.

Steep stairs but no elevator to top floor made carrying suitcases very difficult.

Breakfast was in a well laid out room next to the swimming pool. Very close to many restaurants and the Shakespeare festival theaters.

Strange, small square bed pillows and mattresses could be a bit firmer. Please return to standard size bed pillows at least.

Had not stayed in this building of the Bard’s Inn before, and it desperately needs updating. The comforter was of such shiny material that it slid back-and-forth off the bed every time we adjusted it.

Location is wonderfully convenient for walking to the theaters and restaurants.

Bedding (bedspread old and inadequate). Breakfast mediocre. No fresh fruit or hot cereal. They charge more for 2 double beds than for 1 king bed.
