My room had a connecting door to the room next door, which made me a little nervous as a solo female traveller.

Big room with plenty of space to spread out, comfortable bed, hot shower, and good amenities. The communal areas are lovely and relaxing, and even serve beer - would be perfect if next time I bring a group of friends! Close to the lake with lots of food and bar options.

Rooms are a bit tired and need of TLC. In our room the carpet was frayed and lifting.

Really great spot, bar well stocked and a great seating area outside. Rooms were pretty comfy with decent mattresses. Really good powerful shower. Easy walk to amenities, food, stores etc. Pretty quiet, although some customers did get a bit loud

Great location on main drag of Tahoe City. Pharmacy and grocery store right across the street. Room was nice and bed comfy. Used the white noise machine provided and slept like a baby.

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing a great retreat after a day of exploring. The fire pit was a lovely touch, perfect for relaxing and roasting marshmallows in the evening. The location was also ideal—just a short walk to Lake Tahoe, making it easy to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend!

Heater was noisy. “Grab and go” breakfast was just muffins, and not many flavor options. No view from room, but Lake visible from outdoor deck.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Decor was outdoorsy/camping theme and very cute. Firepits outside were nice. Beer, wine and soda available at desk was nice. Coffee available in lobby. Good location.

The carpets are pretty worn, but I get that it would be hard to keep clean considering the location, and it's dog friendly.

Really liked the location, and the bed was very comfortable with comfy bedding as well. Liked that there was a window in the bathroom for showering also.

The intermittent steps going to my room in the far back made it a little inconvenient for my roller suitcase and cooler but hard to avoid with the uphill of the property. The shower door didn't actually shut (rm 117). Needs fixing or replacement parts. I reported it. The bathroom light had a motion sensor that blasted me with bright light when walking into the bathroom in the middle of the night. The desk clock was set to an hour ahead which was a little annoying and seemed impossible to change. It was reported.

I liked the decorating (hence the name Base Camp, I reckon). The location was very central, across from Safeway (not that I went there) and just nice walking distance to walkways alongside the lake and shops to window browse in. The great weather enhanced the visit. "Summer," the nice lady in the lobby was very friendly and was helpful with hiking suggestions. The outdoor fire place and outdoor lights helped with ambience.

Our room was starting to feel a little dated, and one of the beds was a little soft.

Cool little hotel in a great location - across the street from the lake (there are some lake views) and easy walking distance to town with the shops, restaurants, and city beach. The rooms are basic and clean, with a playful mountain feel. The lobby is more like a hang out room, with people working, watching TV, etc. and there are several fire pits to enjoy the mountain air. They have drinks and snacks available at the front desk, including a s'mores kit to enjoy by the fire.

They need to lose the "pourover" coffee in the room and get regular coffee makers. Cable TV options were somewhat limited.

Staff (Johnny) was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. The location is fantastic. Room was good. Deck with fire pit was awesome. And the price (for Tahoe) was reasonable.
