Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDisliked · It appears this establishment isn't a traditional hotel, as there seem to be semi-permanent residents. My room on the third floor had no real view—unless you're fascinated by the neighbor's sink and mirror (I wasn’t). The walls were paper-thin, and I could hear EVERYTHING...no further details necessary. The remote for the 32-inch TV didn’t work, and I was given just two towels: one face towel and a larger hand towel—but nothing that resembled a proper bath towel. The bathroom sink was clogged and never fixed. There were about six holes in the walls—one stuffed with tissue—which was unsettling. The microwave was missing its turntable plate, leaving only the roller ring. The fridge reminded me of the ones you'd find in a lab. Most concerning: the smoke detector was missing entirely, with exposed wires dangling from the ceiling, bringing the total hole count to seven.
Liked · Very friendly and helpful staff. Although centrally located, the neighborhood is kinda rough...but a "San Francisco rough", meaning there's a lot of poverty and person tragedies milling about, but mostly harmless.

United StatesThe area was real bad. It was full of homeless people and the parking was horrible. Not a good area to walk around in.
The man at the desk was so helpful. He helped with directions when we were not sure where to park and gave us all info on parking and places to get good food and drinks.

South AfricaUnfortunately I had a terrible night 2 where due to central heating my room was way too hot, I tried to open the window and ended up having to listen to a couple having sex which was so loud it may as well been in my room so I had to close up the window again and blast the fan and then had the people upstairs stomp around until 2 am so loud not even my earphones helped. There was nothing I could do about anything that was making me uncomfortable. For the money I paid, I just don’t feel the stay matched the value.
The staff were super friendly and accommodating. One staff member was kind enough bough to wait up for me until late at night due to flight issues. The room had all I needed.

United StatesThis was the dirtiest place you can ever imagine. The sheets weren’t cleaned or changed at all and they had multiple stains and hair on them. The room smelled like cigarettes and the fire alarms were taken out. Everything was just so dirty and dusty! Location is In Tenderloin so you already know how it’s gonna be. But the hotel door is locked and you can only get in with a key which is good. But at least the price is cheap.

United StatesOnce you take a walk up the stairs you immediately realize what kind of property you have purchased for the night. There is a public shower for rooms that do not have showers within them. The room smelled of cigarettes and there was trash, dust, and the bed had a simple sheet with no cover. The bed wasn't even attached to the head board. I'm 6'4'' , the "queen sized bed" was actually a full sized bed and I couldn't not fit. That's false advertisement. There were cigarettes in the window sill. The TV was not functional. I had to leave immediately.
Service was quick and I was able to check in with ease.

United StatesThere is no air conditioning and the room is hot, there is a fan but barely does much. Bed was hard with only two thin pillows. There was a large gap between the floor and the bottom of the door to the hallway. It is not a sound proof room and you could see the hallway light coming through all night.
The blinds were dusted and TV was big. Disposable toothbrushes

United States1. Room had no central cooling. Common for SF but still, it was 85° at night. At least there was a fan even if it was sub par it was just enough to sleep. 2. everything was diluted. Literally. From coffee to shampoo. Everything is about 20% potency. 3. Towels small and scratchy. Toilet paper was thin and cheap. 4. Area was tenderloin. Don't get it wrong. Definitely shady. Not nearly as bad as summer 2020 or 2021. I wasn't afraid to walk outside at night this time.
Friendly staff. They lived there so coming in late or Early didn't really matter. Bedding was good.

MexicoThe property was dirty, my room wasn’t cleaned prior to arrival nor while I was there. Homeless on the doorstep all hours of the day & smelled like pee. No heat, AC or fans in rooms. Property clearly has been neglected & needs basic upgrades & appears the owner doesn’t care about the property or those staying there.
