Overall, the staff were very friendly, except for one older gentleman who was extremely arrogant. The air conditioning in the room was very loud and disturbed sleep.

The hotel has an excellent location, just a short walk from the beach and Ocean Drive. A big plus is the availability of beach towels, although the hotel only provides beach chairs, which cannot be reclined. Breakfasts were very modest, with no vegetables, but tea and coffee were available 24/7, which was a nice touch. The rooms, including the beds, were comfortable and cleaned daily.

Beach equipment needs a little TLC as some had a little too much wear and tear. Breakfast was provided but a little too basic and limited.

A charming boutique hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. One block from the beach and a short walk to Lincoln Road. The hotel provide all beach equipment (towels/umbrella/chairs) at no extra cost which was great.

Rooms are small and there is no space to store anything. Breakfast could be improved with some savoury stuff.

There is no private parking but there is a municipal parking one minute away from the hotel for 20USD per day. We were there the 1st week of July and there were always parking spaces available.

We were there with our 6 year old daughter. To us, the hotel was perfect, as expected. Location is just ideal if you want to go shopping or to the beach or just walking on the waterfront. Breakfast was also good. I will recommend that hotel.

Parking. Parking was awful. The attendant in the lobby told us we could park in the deck across the street, but it was full. South Beach is not good for parking at all - next time, we will uber and rent bikes. The shower is a converted full size tub, which sounds good, but it's very deep and the shower head is oddly heavy - I'd be careful with it, although it looked like a good place for a soak. We struggled a bit with finding plugs for the phones, and there was not anything resembling a view, unless one likes parking lots - but again, it's on the main drag in South Beach. If you want a view, get out and walk!

The exterior is comparatively unassuming - a white stucco building in the middle part of a block in South Beach, but the minute I walked in, I knew I was someplace wonderful - the lobby was cool, and smelled wonderful, and looked unique - this is not your average Holiday Inn looking place. The staff was so nice, and while I'm not quite sure how someone who was in a wheelchair would manage all the steps (there is a handicapped entrance, so there's a way - but there are steps off the street, and another set of maybe 5 steps from the lobby to the single hallway), it's beautifully appointed and peaceful. The room was glorious - we had the last room at the end of a hallway covered in photos; inside, the floor was smooth-sanded pale pine, and the room was huge - ample space for a king sized bed and a full living area with couch and chairs, plus a desk and a huge closet. The bathroom was likewise enormous, and had several fixtures which looked original, from the black and white checkerboard floor tile to the 2 vanity sinks. I loved the Shepley - we will be back. Food and entertainment and the beach are between 1 and 2 blocks away, which was perfect. The breakfast is mostly continental; we went to a restaurant, but the families munching down looked happy with it.

The property is a small, boutique hotel that had lots of charm and was very quaint. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of items. The hotel is located one block or so from the beach and is in a very nice and convenient location. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Everyone working the front desk was amazing. EXCEPT an older gentleman on Friday, June 27th. We were sitting outside. I remembered staff mentioned a rest room rather than me taking the stairs to my room. I mentioned this to him and he yelled at me that it wasn’t clean. Again, I told him I was a guest and showed him my room key. Again, he said it wasn’t clean. I proceeded to the restroom anyway to find the bathroom was indeed clean. As a matter of fact, it was very clean. I heard him get on his walkie talkie to call security. I didn’t understand what the problem was. I was very respectful and polite. I do remember prior to coming, I read reviews about a staff member who was rude and wondered if it was this guy. Not sure if I’ll stay again. I paid my money. We were great guests. Everyone was nice with the exception of him. I can take my money elsewhere.
