How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The area leading up to the hotel, which I realize you have little control over, is a rough neighborhood.
The breakfast buffet was awesome, and the dinning area was very nice. Our room was open and set up nicely.

While I understand that it was a potentially high volume weekend, the price per night seemed quite high for the facilities and services offered.
The Best Western was super central, walking distance to most places of interest in and around downtown Wilkes-Barre. Just what I wanted for taking in graduation festivities at the university. It also had a wonderfully quirky vibe.

Bar & restaurant closed. breakfast staff having issues about something instead of discussing privately. They openly griped and swore while I was trying to eat. Made me very uncomfortable Shut down line well before 10.

Decor is tacky could use new bed pillows
For the little extra we paid for this pet friendly hotel, compared to interstate side options, this location and breakfast were super. Had their art fest in the downtown square a block away. River walk close by good Italian restaurant across public square

Our room was right next to the elevator and I am a light sleeper so that didn’t go so well for me

Things were dated but acceptable for the price and convince. Staff was great!
Walking distance to Kirby Center, breakfast was great! Was like going back in time. Can't imagine what this place was like in it's hayday!

Perfectly located in the centre of Wilkes Barre, with plenty of free parking. Spacious room and everything was clean. Good breakfast.

Heater in original room was broken (although front desk staff were generous in helping to address the situation) Housekeepers were excessively loud every morning, making it impossible to wake up any later than 8am; yelling down the hallways, singing loudly, and playing music

HEATER IN OUR ROOM WOULD NOT SHUT OFF THE LAST NIGHT WE WERE THERE.. NO DINING /BAR IN HOTEL EXCEPT BREAKFAST BUFFET WHICH WAS A 10 OUT OF 10..FIRST DAY THERE PAINTING IN LOBBY OF OUR FLOOR SO THERE WAS PAINT FUMES IN THE AIR. OUR ROOM DOOR HAD GAPS BUT WE LOCKED IT AND THEN OPENED THE BATHROOM DOOR WHICH COVERED THE GAPS OF THE ROOM DOOR SO LIGHT FROM HALL DID NOT KEEP US AWAKE.
ALL THE STAFF WAS BEYOND FRIENDLY. BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS ON POINT 10 OUT OF 10 . PRIVATE PARKING +, STAFF WAS VERY APOLOGETIC ABOUT HEATER NOT SHUTING DOWN.. WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF EVERYTHING. ROOM CLEANERS ASKED MULTIPLE TIMES IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING DURING OUR 3 DAY STAY.

One of my party had lost her mother a few days prior to our scheduled stay. I called & spoke with Simone to try & cancel 1 of the 3 rooms I booked. Unfortunately I couldn't , due to booking with Booking.com. A day later Simone called to see how it went & was incredibly gracious, sympathetic, & beyond caring. I never got to see her to thank her for her kindness!, but I will always remember it .
