I did not feel as safe in that particular area compared to the hotels just down the road.

The price was right for the area/location. I travel to Sikeston regularly and have stayed at several hotels. The Drury Inn is fancy and therefore costly. The Pear Tree Inn is a bit less yet perfectly accommodating, very comfortable, and clean with extremely friendly staff! They were booked full on this stay, so I opted for the Best Western Plus. The first lady I met, Ms. Flora, at check-in, was not terribly friendly. She spoke in monotone and as if she hated her job. Maybe she was simply having a bad day, which is understandable. The point is that she didn't make me feel welcome or happy to be there. My room seemed clean enough despite the outdated or slightly damaged furniture. I appreciated their refrigerator/freezer very much! It held a lot, and having a freezer was a plus. The pillows/bed were not exceptionally comfortable like the Pear Tree. However, I wasn't uncomfortable. The pool is heated, which I found exciting. The trouble is that SOME of the clientele is a bit sketchy, so I wasn't comfortable using the pool by myself. I don't eat breakfast, but I did see several others enjoying what was offered. The gentleman running things during the day was very friendly and enthusiastic about making my stay comfortable. Overall, I'm glad that I tried the Best Western Plus. I will probably give it another try on my next visit. Directly across from the Best Western is the Country Hearth Inn, which I do NOT recommend unless you don't mind roaches with mouse traps lying around. It's the cheapest, however, and smoking is allowed in the rooms if that's something you prefer.

There was an occasional scent of someone smoking (at least it seemed so). I checked and signs outside the doors near me indicated non smoking but there was a distinct scent of cigarette smoke, mostly in the bathroom area. Otherwise, no issues.

Everything was fine. I did realize I was eligible for a $50 gift certificate since I stayed more than 2 nights. Per the front desk, I should receive that in an email at some point? The room was clean & comfortable.

Need to replace carpet in pet friendly rooms to a laminate floor. Puppy area fenced so dogs could be off leash for a while.

The staff on duty didn't even know the documentation that they had in the room. The details clearly stated 2 free bottles of water per room but they wanted to argue saying that was for certain guests (which was not indicated). I had to go back to my room get the document and prove it to the staff.

There was a side entrance that made it easier for me to park and get inside quickly. It was raining and I am disabled and therefore was doing everything I could to get inside quickly without getting soaked.

The tub had been sprayed- it was coming off. Carpet was questionable- crumbs under couch. Older facility.
