Said the pool was open but the look of the color was kind of alarming lol (it was the very beginning of season) everything else was awesome.

George in the office was very accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort when the cabin i reserved turned out to be a bit too small for our group. Tons of amenities for the property, absolutely beautiful location.

Having to pay a separate security deposit and then once the stay was over having to wait to get the deposit back.

This was a very comfortable cabin that was well furnished. It was very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

The only thing I don’t like was that I have to clean the place to get my cleaning deposit (150$)with I already paid According to my email (75$) if I know I have to clean the room before leaving I don’t think I would have chosen this place

The hotel was very good ,a lot of space.very good for family of 5 .

You have to put a deposit down for the cabins and if you don't clean them properly before you leave then you don't get the deposit back. The cleaning is not a normal thing that you do at a hotel/motel but it was not hard to keep the cabin clean and get your deposit back. Just follow the rules posted in the cabin. It took my group about 20 minutes to wipe down the surfaces and appliances and sweep, vacuum and swifter the cabin. Of course we didn't cook at all in the cabin so it would probably take a little longer if you had to wash dishes. The only thing that I noticed and was somewhat worried about was I didn't see a smoke / carbon monoxide detector in the cabin even though it has a gas heater and I think a gas hot water heater.

The place was clean it is not fancy but it was priced right. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area. He was nice to answer some questions about the places to see in the area. This was a good locations to see Crazy Horse , Mount Rushmore , Black Hills National Park and Hill City is a nice town to just walk through. We were not at the cabin much except to sleep. They had some nice amenities like bicycles and gold mining pans that you could use. We didn't use the pool because we didn't have time. There is a very nice trail behind the property that is excellent for running or walking and it takes you into Hill City if you want to just stretch your legs. The cabin is situated in a beautiful area. The property is very clean and nicely kept.

The owner told us to get the f*** off his property when I asked him to sign the receipt saying we “passed “ his cleaning inspection. I wanted proof we passed to get our $175.00 deposit back. He also said I’m not signing a f***ing thing.

Everywhere I looked there were unwelcoming signs of rules and expectations stapled to the walls of the cabin, and throughout the property. It was necessary for me to sweep up, vacuum, mop, and have the owner inspect cabin and bedding before I left to assure return of my deposit. Sofa bed mattress/couch severely outdated and worn out. Very uncomfortable as either a sofa or bed.

Location was great. Unit was clean.

All of the rules, especially the cleaning . Make sure you videotape as you're cleaning and count the pads in the swifter box. One of the rules or request is that you turn off the AC while gone. One small AC in the living area that don't even reach back to the bathroom or bedrooms. We couldn't even shower there bc it was so hot Had to shower in family's hotel. Don't expect to come back and take a cool dip into the pool bc the water is as green as the Chicago river on st pats day. Bed had thick plastic cover, for God's sake, don't do anything to soil the sheets bc either you spend the money to wash them or they're charge another fee.

    I really can't think of anything I didn't like.

This is a mom and pop roadside motel and cabins in the Black Hills. The location has play areas for kids, access to the trail on the other side of the stream, and a friendly staff. Everything other than food is made available by the hosts. The owner gave me a suggestion for a site-seeing drive to experience the Black Hills for the first time.

The whole place needs updating. The electricity needs updating. Everything is run on power strips which is a fire hazard. The bathroom is extra small with a portable shower. I wish the reviews had told the real story before I booked here.

I called the owner to inquire about the refund of the damage deposit I had not yet received more than a week after passing his inspection and checking out, as well as to share constructive feedback regarding the customer service my family and I experienced. The owner, George, quickly became argumentative and told me I was a "piece of s#*t" and that I should "f*@k off" - I did not use any foul language or even raise my voice prior to or after his colorful statements - I've censored them; he did not. After telling me to "f*@k off", then hanging up on me, George felt the need to send me a text message further berating me by implying I'm too stupid to count or "have some other issue". He references seven "working days"; I believe he meant business days, but he had never used either phrase prior to sending this lovely text message. Furthermore, George has a knack for making you feel like you are inconveniencing him by paying him hundreds of dollars to stay at his place. Needless to say, my family and I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome during our stay.

The AC barely cools the kitchen and part of the living room. The cool air does not reach the cramped bedrooms at all. The beds and couches/hide-a-beds were worn, sagging, and uncomfortable. The blankets were scratchy. There are several signs in the rooms written in a condescending tone and threatening additional fees that imply the guests are too stupid and/or inconsiderate to use common sense and show respect for the property.
