Our family's stay at the cabins will be one to remember: comfortable beds, hot showers, thoughtful touches, and an incredible staff. Conveniently located off the beaten path but within a 15 minute walk of the small town of McCarthy, the cabins' proximity to the Kennecott Mine and Root Glacier were fantastic, including the easy shuttle to go to and from. The cabins even offer day use rentals of crampons to explore the glacier! Coordination with the cabin staff was seamless; they were all so hospitable! We particularly appreciated all the recommendations from Mary. :)

Location was tough but No fault of the property- they gave great directions! McCarthy is tough in the dark with all the trails and roads intersecting if you don’t have a four wheeler. This was my fault though bc we got in so late! I recommend future stayers look at maps prior to losing phone service and trying to find your way boozed up in the dark in bear country. Again all my fault! Otherwise amazing 10/10

Not sure there was much that couldn't been done differently but you do need to get picked up from the staff when you arrive as your car cannot enter the town. That is fine, it's a 20 minute wait. For us there was another group that arrived slightly before us which meant our wait to get to the cabins was about 45 minutes after a long drive, which was less than ideal. But not sure what they can do about that.

The cabin itself was very cozy, had a great supply of kitchen basics, the shower was warm, the outhouse was fine, and it was a nice spot to be. It was easy to access everything via the shuttle that runs down the street and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were nice.

The bathroom needs a door, an outhouse is fine, however, just a bug screen doesn’t give you privacy from the other tenants.

The cabins had a full kitchen set for pots and pans with a community grill. It was an epic escape from the mosquitos. The fire pit was super cute, and the showers were not “timed” so you could warm up, or cool off as long as you wanted. Also working with Livvy was an awesome experience as she made all of us feel extremely welcomed to her little cabin town.

Note the toilet is an outhouse. Shower close to cabin, it was very ok with hot water etc. Wifi is only at reception. Walk to village is 15-20 minutes. There is a bus stop close. No fridge, power outlet is only USB. It was all good as the cabin itself is high standard.

It's a very nice cabin in the forest. There is plenty of space, good beds. Place to eat is Potato, highly recommended.

Cozy, quaint and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. McCarthy has a special, frontier charm. The locals all seem inspired and happy. The Wrangell mountains are absolutely epic. Highly recommend

Perfect location for those visiting Kennecott (short shuttle ride away!) and cabins sit in a beautiful set up. Very hospitable owners - great communication from planning the trip to arrival and during our stay. Cabin is very cute and owners have thought of every detail - beds linens are of good quality and very clean. Mattress is very comfortable. Potable water, sink, stove and coffee pot inside cabin. Outhouse and hot showers a few feet away!

No electricity, or electric outlets. Solar power (?) powered two weak light bulbs. Could not get the propane heater to work and no way to contact hosts since our cell phones did not work there. Outhouse was small and crampt.

The cabins were quaint and new. The shuttle picked us up and delivered us to the footbridge
