How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewUpon arriving at the hotel, the person at the register desk tried to make me pay more than the amount due on my booking.com reservation. I asked why but her explanation was sketchy and she finally said "I can adapt to make you pay the amount you have on your booking.com reservation." Erm, yes, please because that's normal. So she does this. The difference she wanted me to pay initially was somewhere above 50 dollars. I check out and I receive a fully acquitted invoice corresponding to the amount on my booking.com reservation. But then ! 2 days after, my card is debited of 56,78 additional dollars! I contact their customer service, which lets me know that this corresponds to "hotel service fees" but 1) I have a fully acquitted invoice and you can't add imaginary charges and fees after the fact, is that even legal? 2) what service are we talking about here ?? I wracked my brain but can't figure out what service we're talking about here as there were none. I asked to be reimbursed of these 56,78 dollars that were bogus charged. No answer. I have to say the person at the front desk was a bit testy and salty with us although we remained perfectly calm and polite through the whole ordeal. This is the first time this has happened to me in the US or on booking.com. It's shady/sketchy that their bogus fees correspond to what they wanted to make me pay above the booking.com guaranteed rate when I first checked in. I wonder if adding bogus fees and trying not to respect the booking.com rate is a scam reserved for foreign tourists?

To clarify: when you book through a third-party site such as Booking.com, the room rate you see is guaranteed. However, there are often additional charges — such as state taxes and hotel service fees — that are not always included in the Booking.com quoted price, but are standard across hotels in Jackson. These fees should always be clearly itemized on your folio at checkout, and I apologize if this was not communicated clearly at the front desk. That said, you should never be charged incorrectly or without explanation. I will personally review your invoice, and if there has been any error, we will correct it right away. Verified reviewThis was my first (of two) stays in Cache House. The bed was very comfortable, and the small fan made the stay even more pleasant. The bathrooms and toilets were also very clean, which I really appreciated.
Before my stay, I contacted Cache House to ask how I could have an Annual Pass delivered. According to the staff member, this was possible, and I was told I could have it mailed to the hostel, so I would have it in time for an early departure to Grand Teton. However, when I arrived, the pass wasn't there. After asking multiple times, I was finally told that it should have been sent to a PO Box, which had never been mentioned. Due to this lack of communication, I lost valuable time during my vacation arranging a park entrance ticket (and additional costs) — something that could have been avoided with clear instructions from Cache House. Additionally, I was required to sign a document for a towel service. I didn’t want this, as I had brought my own towels. However, I felt I had no choice, and $25 was charged (or held) on my credit card. When I hung my towel to dry, it disappeared the next day, and I never received a replacement. This meant I couldn’t properly dry off after showering. I also noticed a separate charge/holding of 49.40 dollars on my creditcard without any explanation. After returning home, I contacted Cache House again, as the bill for my second stay was incorrect (I had been overcharged by $83.56), and I noticed holdings/charges of 25 dollars, 25 dollars and 49,40 dollars. They told me that guests are not required to use the towel service, and that the $25 charge was for something else entirely. However, this was not how it was explained at the front desk — and my English is good enough to understand such information. In summary: communication at Cache House is lacking, and I strongly recommend double-checking your payments. While they are willing to sort things out eventually, it takes multiple follow-ups before you get a clear answer to all your questions. I am still waiting for some answers.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that upon arrival, I was asked to sign a document listing charges that were much higher (83,56 dollars) than the total shown on Booking.com. I immediately raised this issue, and the staff member at the front desk was very friendly and assured me that they would honor the Booking.com rate. However, when I got home, I saw that they had not done so. On top of that, they had placed an additional $25 hold on my credit card without informing me or asking for my consent. I hadn’t signed anything for this amount either. I contacted them after returning home, and while they eventually refunded the difference, they never responded to my questions about the extra $25 – and in a previous stay, I had similar unexplained charges of $25 and $49.40. I had to send several emails and repeat myself multiple times before receiving a reply. This was very frustrating. Furthermore, it would be nice if there would be a kettle and a microwave to warm up some food.

Verified reviewMy stay at Cache House exceeded my expectations. The check in (which is done inside the Anvil Hotel) was really easy. The bed was comfortable, clean, the noise level was low, and there was not too much light coming in from the curtain. The bed space DID NOT get very hot (with a stay in the middle of August). The bathrooms are clean, well supplied. The lockers are reliable. The location is also very convenient.
