How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI don’t even know where to begin! The ranch is absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. We had privacy despite feeling part of a working farm. Ming and Garry are incredible hosts and were happy to share their knowledge and love for the area with us. The fresh eggs and vegetables from the garden were delicious as were the lamb chops that we grilled on our back deck. Every aspect of the design and decor of each building on the property has been carefully and lovingly planned. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The bathroom was supplied with everything one could possibly need!! We absolutely loved our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back for sure!!

Verified reviewFrom the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. Garry and Ming are incredible hosts, full of warmth and genuine kindness. Hanging out with the cows and sheep was such a treat, and the rustic old cabin where we stayed had so much character and captures the charm and spirit of the place. Every detail felt thoughtful yet natural, and the atmosphere was peaceful and grounding—it’s exactly the kind of spot you hope to find but rarely do. The whole vibe is relaxed and genuine, and Garry & Ming go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. If you want a getaway that feels real, with awesome people and lots of friendly animals, you absolutely have to check this out! I’m already looking forward to going back

Verified reviewIt’s a fabulous place for an adventure with families. Loved seeing the sheep and cows. The greeting was great and we had a way to connect if we had a problem.
It’s a 17 mile drive from main road. Internet, cell, and lightning was not good for two people trying to do some work.
Dear Beverly We are sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your expectation as a business traveler. As you would understand that in the rural area, cell service is actually at mercy of your service provider. Certainly we will check on our Starlink WiFi and look to see if the lighting in the Cabin can be improved. We always inform guests about the travel time from Cortez downtown area so they can prepare their trip better. Maybe it is just something we need to emphasize more in the future. On the other hand, we are glad that you enjoyed the animals and the passion from our staff wanting to help. While you were at the ranch, we have a top executive from New York here for the 3rd time for 2 weeks and he has been driving thru the beautiful 17-mile canyon to the office in Cortez almost every day. We appreciate your feedback, and we hope you both can come back for a leisure trip to really have a chance to enjoy more of our animals and what the ranch and the surrounding area have to offer such as hiking, biking, wine tasting, horseback riding, rock art and ruins to explore. Thank you.

Verified reviewThis is no tourist trap. It’s an authentic working ranch run by an amazing couple & the perfect last stop on our journey to the area, especially after hiking for 4 days in Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon & Hovenweep. Never thought I would put great value for a $250 a night lodging but it was more than worth the value.
I had to leave to return home.

We felt off the grid and was nice to enjoy the peaceful “ranch” life while interacting with all the sheep, dogs and cats! Verified reviewThe location was beautiful. The setting was beautiful. The cowboy bunkhouse cabin was decorated fantastic. It’s definitely a one butt kitchen but my oh my it was just fine sitting on the front porch in the mornings with the cup of tea.,was so relaxing .I got to feed Longhorns. I got to feed a cow. I got to feed the sheep, Ming and Garry are the most gracious wonderful considerate host ever. did I mention in the morning when we open our bunkhouse door there was a cat greeting us, coming to have its breakfast too. The farm fresh eggs that they give you were delicious. Also, Mings homemade sage soap was so smelly it. It was wonderful.
The only negatives that I can think of is the knives in the kitchen needed sharpening and they needed an egg flipper for cooking the eggs I
Toni, thanks so much for taking your time putting down your experience. We appreciate and enjoy our time with you. Will definitely get the knifes sharpened and egg flipper for the Cabin. Thanks so so much and enjoy the rest of trip. We hope to see you sometime in the future. Big hugs from all of us including the cat.

Verified reviewThis is a magical place, as is everyone who works there. It's a gorgeous spot, our cowboy cabin was like stepping back in time, except with all the modern and comfortable conveniences. Ming puts eggs in your fridge, and shares the property and animals with her guests in such a generous and kind way. We loved walking on the property, there's so much of it, with the dogs who would join us and the sheep moving around to their hearts content.
What could have been better? That we could have stayed longer. If you enjoy riding horses, Ming will steer you to her friends down the road, another marvelous place, with lovely horses, wranglers and stage coach builders!

Finally Garry, the owner was an exceptional host. Along with being generally delightful he provided us with excellent tour around sites of the ranch. This was an excellent place to stay.
