The staff was not helpful, the facilities were broken down (ice machine, washing machines, dryers, drapes were all broken). They advertise zen “hot breakfast” but there is none. They don’t have basics like soap, shampoo, conditioner or replacement towels. Not all the lights worked either.

The kitchenette was handy and the free parking was very nice. Nice refrigerator and good AC.

Stayed before, it was great. This time, room not too clean, floors obviously skipped the vacuum, stained sheets and the bed frame sliced my ankle open the first couple min in the room. Thought we had found a great spot but will not be back...

The place got really cheap since our last stay in there 7 months ago. the kitchen was totally under-stuffed - only one fork and 2 spoons, one out of two mugs was chipped, no kettle, only one little pouch of regular coffee, good thing we brought our own kitchen supplies. Pillows are really bad and the bedding cleanness was questionable, super thin towels and only 2 tiny soap bars. So, it was not that expensive but still not cheap, so I don't think we paid for what we got...

Location was good for us. check in was easy. The fridge and microwave worked fine, the bathroom and sinks were fine. We did not use air conditioning or heating. The intentions of the room furnishing and the interior was good, however...

Where do I start… our A/c didn’t work- maintenance man came by and said he had another unit he could bring in. In the meanwhile he had a fan we could use. So it was stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep. The pool /jacuzzi facilities were closed - no one told me that they would not be available during our stay. Very inconvenient!! There was no soap in the kitchen to wash dishes no shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. Not even any warm water let alone hot water anywhere. The place was further from the beach and downtown Carlsbad than advertised.

Seems like there is a new owner. The restaurant/bar has been closed. Light in the bathroom was out, no towels in the room, no blowdryer. The hot tub has been closed the last two times we have been there and now the pool had been drained. Male staff member at front desk was not helpful. Asked if him about a blowdryer, he said he would look and call me back. Twenty minutes later I went down to speak with him, he was watching videos on his phone with his feet on the desk.

Location is perfect! Room was clean.

There was practically zero cook ware or utensils when I got to my room. I asked for some to and received an odd mishmash of stuff. But it took them days to come up with a single metal spoon. I had a couple of tiny plastic spoons instead. The place needed paint and the hallways smelled really strongly of carpet or other cleaning solution. Maybe from cleaning dog messes. There were barking dogs across the hallway. Towels were worn and stained. Same for the bed clothes. Some of the staff were nice but some were sort of sullen. I asked politely for more paper towels and the front desk person just glared at me, went into a closet, came out with a roll and handed it to me without speaking a single word.

The basics were fine. The shower was hot, no mildew, no leaks. The stovetop and microwave / convection oven in good shape. The fridge pretty large and worked well. No icemaker but ice trays provided.

The mattress sorely needs replacement. Mismatched decor as though they are re-supplying furniture from thrift stores. Some lamps didn't work and one was sticky to the touch where it could have easily been wiped down. Pool was out of commission.

Ease of access to seminar location at a much more manageable price range. Unit was spacious. Having a kitchen facility is great, and even a stove top was remarkable.

Furniture was stained and very uncomfortable. The first room we were in had roaches and we had to be moved. The pool was covered in algae and not a great sight to see.

Old dirty tub, broken micro and stove top. Very noisy neighbors at 2am and 4 am. I was only there 2 nights. The maintenance guy replaced my microwave and got my phone plugged in but couldn't be done until next day so one of the two nights I was there I didn't have these. Also carpets really dirty.

The staff was friendly and helpful but I needed help that I shouldn't have needed. Things didn't work on the room. The microwave was broken. The stove was almost impossible to turn on and one burner was broken. More kitchen supplies were needed. The phone was unplugged behind a very heavy dresser. I was there 2 nights and one night I was awoken at 4am by a person blasting the radio while singing and using something to tap with it. That's when I found out the phone was unplugged because I couldn't call the front desk. The next night it happened again at 2am. I called front desk and 30 minutes later it stopped. Room was pretty clean but carpets in room and hall are so dirty they could be replaced. The bathtub needed work too. The staff was extremely friendly so I had no issues with them but the other issues I had to deal with made for a very mediocre stay.

The air conditioner was emitting black specks. The pool and jacuzzi were broken. The pool water was sitting stagnant and green. We were given a refund without quibble which is why hotel was given a 4.

The facility was dirty and needed several repairs. The room had two small bars of soap, but no shampoo, conditioner, lotion or tissues, things that are standard in any motel, even economy motels such as this one.

The carpets are so smelly and dirty. The rooms smell and the stairwell’s smell. Strong odor of animal pee None of the posted amenities are available No breakfast No laundry No gym No pool They only clean on Tuesday and thirty request. So if you arrive Wednesday and leave Tuesday you have a six day stay with no cleaning no new towels nothing. The towels are so small and so thin. No fan in bathrooms so towels stay muggy Very disappointed that the studio six website shows a pool yet it’s been closed for months. Booking has so many listed amenities that are not available. You assume you are paying for use of these amenities but then you get here and there are absolutely none. Pretty dishonest Trash is all over the parking lot. The door keys do not work on any exterior entrance. It seems like the owners are not interested in having a clean reputable hotel. They are letting it turn into a slum.

Great location. You can walk to the beach close to food and other places. Dog friendly hotel rooms have allot of space and a full fridge

I was disappointed about the hotel not having a working pool or jacuzzi, especially in the hot summer month when you just want somewhere to relax and cool down.

The location of the hotel was fun and unique. Lots of local stuff to do around the area.

No hot water, missing medication and some of the staff had a attitude. I paid my money in advance. I'm supposed to be treated the same way you would treat any other guest with respect.

The price location and couch was clean and the dishwasher worked.

Carpets were not clean. After walking around on it bare foot my feet we’re turning dark from the carpet. Needs deep cleaning. Humidity in the room is bad and damp. I had to go to the front desk twice to reswipe my room key to give me access to my room. This happened on my previous stay as well.

Staff was not as friendly as my previous visits. When I asked the front desk for pool towels, the young man had his feet up on the counter and talking on his cell phone. He said they didn't have pool towels. I mentioned the lady who was at the desk the day before gave me towels. He said she shouldn't have because they were short on towels. I then mentioned they were pool towels not room towels, which he then said I need to use my room towels. I said again, no the pools towels have a blue stripe. Upset He got up and said hold on, went to the back office and brought me to little hand towels and said that is all they had. Pool area was dirty and only four chairs. This must be a new owner, hopefully they will improve on customer service and cleanliness otherwise they may loose clientele.

The first room they put us in was filthy and the AC did not work, they tried saying there were no other rooms available but after I went down to the front desk he said he could give me an out of service room. At 6 am the next morning I had a knock on the door asking who I was and why I was in that room. This happened AGAIN at 7 am the next morning! I guess he didn’t switch us over in the system. The pool and hot tub were closed. The breakfast area was closed. The ice machine was out of service. There were tears and stains on all the furniture. The hallways smelled like wet dog. And there’s a train that goes by every hour blaring their horn!!!!

Was dirty upon arrival. Soaking wet towels in the bathroom floor upon arrival. Used soaps at the sinks. No toiletries. A/C in bedroom was broken. When we tried to ask the front desk to switch rooms or for help, they were not interested in either.
