Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The walls between the rooms are a little thin. But once it became late enough it wasn't a big deal.
The owner met me when I checked in and took me to the room. They went through the room with me to make sure everything was on good shape and to my liking.

Water pressure was pretty low but got the job done.
Seems to be just starting out as a hotel. Owner's super passionate and seems to actually want to keep everything as clean as possible. Rooms still smell new. Very nicely located as well

Would be great to have an opportunity to make a tea/coffee. But you have Starbucks next to the motel.
Quiet, Netflix and HBO, comfy bed. Very nice stuff. Room was clean and fresh.

Everything was new inside the room and it was cozy and quiet. This was probably the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Although the hotel is on a busy road away from the center of town, there is a Starbucks right nextdoor and numerous restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. We ate dinner at a fabulous Thai/sushi restaurant less than a block away. The owner and staff are extremely personable and helpful.

Old motor lodge which has redone the rooms. Comfortable stay and it was clean and they have tried. New carpet, new AC unit shower has been redone. Not craftsmanship but for on old motor lodge in Flag is value for money .

A coffee maker in the room would have been nice.
Very cute and comfortable. Older building, but recently redone so it felt very fresh and clean. Free movie channels and Netflix was a bonus.

I personally did not need it but some ladies need a hair dryer.
Check in was easy and staff was friendly. Room was newly remodeled, clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great location with food/drinks/etc very close. Great deal for the price. I would stay again. Thank you!

The only thing we didn’t like was the temperature light on the AC unit never went off so at night the room glowed and the light was in our eyes while sleeping. My husband finally got up and turned it off. Luckily it was not a hit weekend. I’m sure there is a setting somewhere that can dim it or have it turn off we just didn’t have time to mess with it.
Was a little frightened when we pulled up and saw the place but the staff was super friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and cute.

Right off the road, parking lot was tight.

The parking was tight. Of necessity it's best to back the car in so you can get out of the space easily. The main street always has traffic.
We chose Castle Rock because it was close to everything in Flagstaff and the train noise would not impact our sleep. And for that purpose it was perfect. The room was spacious and furnished very well. The bathroom was clean and nice - the shower had plenty of water pressure. We loved the bed, the sheets were very soft. The air conditioner worked well. Once in the room there was no street noise even though the property was on a main street with a lot of traffic.
