Making an old building modern is an infinite task and great expense, so more always can be done. Come here for authenticity and restoration, not a routine experience that can you have next to any freeway. Everything worked well. You might even enjoy the train horns at night!

A loving use of an historic building near the center of town. Rooms are nicely restored and comfortable with period style. An excellent restaurant for dinner, and cafe for breakfast add convenience. Historical photos adorn the walls and an original mural captures an important event in local history. It is distinctive and tasteful. Kudos to the restorers and owners.

I didn’t realize we were close to train tracks or that there was construction being done, so it was pretty noisy.

I loved the vintage feel of the property and the cleanliness of the room.

I would have liked a TV.

Location was great next to the park where I could walk my service dog. Restaurant on premises was really excellent for dinner and drinks. Loved the vintage atmosphere of the place. Wifi was good especially useful because no TV. Great value.

WI-FI connections were not strong but was able to use personal hot spot. Not a deal breaker. I plan to stay here again in the future.

This is not a Marriott or chain hotel. This is a charming hotel that is centrally located. It was easy to park and the guest were all quiet. The care takers of the historic hotel (national landmark) do a great job running things. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable with the accommodations. You get nice big robes in your room.

This is a 1920's hotel professionally renovated and spotlessly clean. They have a restaurant that opens at 7am but I wish there was coffee service available earlier.

Sherry went the extra mile for me. I needed to check in early and she met me face to face so she could be sure I got situated.

Lovely vintage hotel in a quaint little town. Walking distance to great shops, antique stores, restaurants and bars. Room was so delightful we really didn’t need to venture out much. Restaurants connected to the property were fantastic! Branch for dinner and Berry Fields for breakfast were great. We live only about 50 miles away but trip was so relaxing and fun we will do it again. The property was absolutely delightful!

Would have preferred to be away from the elevator as you can hear the chime when it goes up and down. The building is very old and doesn't have the best sound proofing, this did not bother us on this stay as it was a quiet night. There was a family function happening in the basement - which was quite loud if you were on the main floor and trying to enjoy the lobby - but they were wrapped up by 11pm. Nothing happening in the ballroom - which we were happy about as that would have been loud in our room as it was overlooking the terrace which gets used when Ballroom rented out. Def enquire prior to booking. Hotel provided earplugs which was a nice touch, I used them and it helped with the trains going by every hour - I didn't get woken once with the earplugs so had a very restful sleep.

Arrived to hotel and was greeted by a very friendly staff person, explained everything about the property to us in full and made sure we were happy with the accomodations before completing booking. Stayed in a suite, which had two big rooms - looking over the 2nd floor terrace. Room was nice and cool with air conditioning - this was really needed as it was very hot when we arrived. Beds were big and comfy. Hotel was very clean and restored nicely.

The street directly outside the room ( we were third floor) somehow was noisier at 11-12PM with revving and racing cars than it seemed to be the next morning. Unfortunately the thin windows and historic building did little to stop the sound.

Very clean, well air conditioned, well furnished and decorated historic period rooms, the location on the square, the adjacent Berry Cafe, and the relative proximity to MSH and MRNP, made this a great find and was also a great.deal.
