Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesMy only concern was that the bathroom didn’t have grab bars in the shower area and the tub was a little slippery. But I raised this with the desk and they said they were working on fixing it for all of the rooms.
The location is very good close to the cute little town of Walker and lots of beautiful recreation. Parts of it were a little worn, but other parts had been renovated. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was exceedingly nice and friendly.

United StatesThis was sold as breakfast included but that was just an unadvertised grab and go which is only available during weekdays. Had to pay for the buffet.
Location was very convenient. Great staff and great indoor pool.

United StatesI know the hotel is older, so some things are 'complicated'. The bathtub had a very high edge that I needed to get over to get in and out of the bathtub. I am older and my height is on the short side. There was not any grab-bar(s) for me to feel secure when getting in and out of tub. The bottom of tub was also slippery when wet. I was worried about getting out safely. One of those rubber mats would have been helpful. Also in bathroom, the overhead exhaust vent was very dusty, like it had not been attended to in a very long time.
Breakfast: I did not have breakfast, but my partner did and he liked it. Hotel: We both appreciated the history of the hotel. I like older hotels with a history, it interests me. Front desk staff: Although we did not get the young man's name, he was delightful! We had a lovely conversation about cats! That was the reason why we came to be in Walker - to adopt a kitty! Restaurant: We had a yummy meal at the restaurant! Stellar view! We were seated by the window. Our server was awesome! The only issue was the space could have been warmer. For me it bordered on cold to when we left I was freezing. Overall I would say that I wish we could have stayed longer; so we could have enjoyed more of the hotel and your lovely town and spectacular lake.

United StatesThe price was a little more than what I expected for the room.
The restaraunt made very tasty and reasonably priced items. The view from the patio of the lake and docks were fun. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful in our visit planning. The recommendation of a Walker loop route to bike was a fantastic help. No traffic noise because it is off the main street and no late or fast traffic.

United StatesBreakfast food should have been hot and replenished in a more timely manner. The fruit should have been prepared so that utensils could be used to access it, not everyone's bare hands. The 502 restaurant for dinner was good, but served cold and took over an hour and a half to get. It was not busy at the time we visited. We had to ask the floor manager to find our server to get the bill so we could leave. I saw other seated diners recommend incoming guests leave and not waste their time! They too must have had a similar experience that we had just had.
The breakfast food was cold and not replenished when we arrived at 8am. Ham and sausage were lk cardboard-dry, cold, inedible. A pile of grapes on the table you had to pick off the vine yourself along with all the other diners-gross. Just not managed well at all. The coffee was very good.

United StatesParking was really terrible. There didn’t seem to be lines so almost every car had a space and a half in between leaving no spots. Almost all of the adjacent streets were no parking during the night so we had to park a significant distance from the building. We were comfortable with the temperature in the room but the vent was blowing was directly on our heads while we slept which was not pleasant.

United StatesHaving stayed there several times, it is now under new ownership who are (somewhat understandably) getting back to basics in terms of perks and amenities, before figuring out what a more defined experience will be for guests. (This is how it was explained to me in a casual conversation with one of the managers). It feels maybe a little too stripped back. No live entertainment in the bar, a padlock on the sauna, the gym is kind of dirty and starting to feel out of date, mismatched cushions on the couch in my two bedroom suite, not enough or the right utensils in the kitchen. Specifically no spatula.
The Chase is a beautiful hotel on an amazing lake in a great town.

United StatesIt seemed like the place could use a lot of upkeep. Our shower and dishwasher were broken (the shower was usable), and the hot tub had multiple broken jets. The pool area was dirty and the pool was freezing.

United StatesWhile we were there(3days), there restaurant was not open for breakfast or lunch which is weird and inconvenient for a resort. Also the patio bar did not open until 4:00 pm and closed at 7:00pm everyday which is also weird considering they have a beautiful patio and it would have been awesome to enjoy throughout the whole day and into the evening. We had to go to other places for food and drinks quite a bit. Also no private parking for guests. There was a very nice and large parking lot right in front of the hotel but it belongs to the city so the general public could park there. We took our vehicle out everyday for activities and it was a fight to find a spot when we returned.
We loved the style of the resort, the location and that it had its own large patio facing the water with a private beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well which is always the most important part when your on vacay.

United StatesThe entire building is very hard to maneuver around in. If there was an emergency such as a fire it could be come very dangerous. The halls and actual exits are extremely confusing. Even some of the staff and several other guests agreed with me on this point.
It was clean and quiet.
