Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe location was a bit far from the sites in Colorado Springs but for the space and view it was worth the drive.
The view was amazing and there was outdoor seating and a fire pit to enjoy the view. There was also a movie theater that was nice to spend time in after a day of hiking. The bed was very comfortable.

United StatesHad to jump on the highway to get most places, even locally. Other than that, we were extremely happy with our stay. First time in Co Springs.
So many small details considered. Comfortable and felt homey. Warm welcome from the host. Private space with many amenities. Would definitely stay again!

United StatesNothing. This was the best place we've ever stayed. We loved it.
This place was beautiful. Not a hotel room. 3 rooms total. Plus the Bathroom with his and hers sinks. A bedroom, a main room with a beautiful bar, fireplace fridge and microwave. Entertainment room with recliners and huge projection screen TV. And a private outdoor patio with gas fire pit and amazing view of pikes peak.

United StatesThe only thing was that access to property was down flagstone steps without a handrail. I had to go down sideways to avoid tripping.
Beautiful view from patio. Well stocked with coffee, tea, other drinks, and tasty treats. They even gave me a gift bag with products and chocolate. Very clean and comfortable.

United StatesOf course nothing is perfect, so here are some things to be aware of before booking. None of them impacted my rating nor our enjoyment of the property. As stated clearly on their description, the only access to the rental unit is down the side of the home across a rock stairway/pathway. This can be tricky if you have any kind of mobility issues (natural or induced). The HVAC is controlled from the owners’ residence upstairs, which could be an issue if you need a temperature change when the owners are off-premise or otherwise unavailable. We did not run into any issues in that regard. Because you are in the basement of the owners’ home, you will hear some noise from upstairs and also some plane/train noise from outside. The owners do their best to minimize any disturbance, but it honestly can’t be 100% avoided. Our solution was a small, variable speed fan by the bedside (or bring a sound machine or earplugs if you prefer). If you are shorter in stature, the bathroom counter height in addition to the tall bowl style sinks may be an issue for you. Lastly, they do have a no shoes in carpeted areas policy. They provide disposable slippers, but it is better to just bring your own “inside only” slippers from home if you have them. As noted, these items are given as helpful and informative observations, not “dings” against the owners or the property.
We had an amazing one week getaway at Chateau Du Pikes Peak! Our hosts, Samantha and Shane, were kind, welcoming and accommodating. They are genuinely good people. Their home is located in an upscale community just north of Colorado Springs and is convenient to several good food, shopping and entertainment options. Their guest guide book contains thorough details regarding appliance/TV operation and lists numerous food and activity recommendations, however I suggest doing your due diligence in advance to find the best food/activity options for your personal preferences. The view from the property is fantastic, and there are multiple outdoor seating options to take it all in. We stayed in the Pasteur Suite, which shares the same stunning views as the back yard. The living areas were clean, well-appointed and stocked with all the essentials. On the few occasions we asked for something, it was provided in a timely and gracious manner. The communication between the hosts and us was thorough and easy. Check in and check out were a breeze. We particularly enjoyed the bar area (bring your own alcohol), the dorm sized fridge/freezer, the theater room (currently no DVD player, but lots of Direct TV and streaming channels), and the gas fire pit (weather permitting).

United StatesWas a bit formal regarding all the rules and signs saying "for display only". It was also bit cluttered with their personal mementos. Other than that no complaints.
Beautiful home and attentive hosts. Great location in a quiet and upscale neighborhood. Our hostess gave us lots of helpful suggestions. Immaculate guest suite! The theatre room was very cool as well.

United StatesBigger bed a private bathroom in case there was another family staying there more area to sit and eat or share a meal. Would’ve been nice if it was a bed and breakfast and not just a queen bed.
There was no breakfast. I also specifically ask about decaf and it was not there when we arrived. The pictures and even some of the comments are misleading. We thought we were staying at a bed-and-breakfast not in the basement of somebody’s home. Somebody’s home that were just up the steps from where we were at. It was very uncomfortable for that reason. And the place is just over done in every way. Too many pictures. Too many books. Too many games. Too much stuff everywhere. But again mostly we were disappointed because we also did not realize there was only one bathroom that we might’ve been sharing with another family. Luckily, there was no other family there when we were there , I would not come back here again. And we did actually unbelievably end up knowing somebody that lived in the neighborhood who said these people probably have not let the neighborhood association know that they are renting out part of their home. That is probably not a good thing , I know they’re trying to do something fun and nice for them, but it did not turn out to be that way
