I did not look closely before booking, but the property does not have air-conditioning. We were OK, but it would’ve been more comfortable with AC. Again, there was no misleading descriptions provided

It is a 2 level hotel, and we were on the ground floor this time. Our neighbors above us sounded like they were constantly moving furniture around their room and seemed to feel the need to talk on speakerphone on their balcony, which was right above ours. Aside from our neighbors, there wasn't anything at the hotel that made it any less than a perfect stay.

Cliff Dweller was fantastic all around and was a great place to stay for our anniversary. The highlight, of course, is it's proximity to the water. Our balcony is a stone's throw away from the shore. Even though it was summer, it was well worth keeping the balcony door open to be able to hear the waves crash throughout the night. The staff were all very welcoming and were helpful for the couple of times we had questions about our stay and of the surrounding area. Tofte is also a great jumping off point for the day trips we took. Grand Portage, Grand Marais and numerous hiking trails were all within a reasonable drive. As a bonus, a nearby restaurant, Cascade Restaurant & Pub, was a real treat for breakfast and lunch and guests of Cliff Dweller get 10% off their meals.

No AC in the rooms. It is okay most of the year, but for a few weeks during the summertime, it would be good to have them.

The room was way too small and the breakfast was awful. Having an easier way to get to the second floor where the view is so much nicer than the 1st floor.

The rooms were very comfortable with a beautiful view! The property offered coffee and snacks for breakfast and also has a sister property that has restaurant which we really enjoyed. Great location for nearby hikes and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

TV quality isn’t great, balconies lack privacy, public WiFi, a freezer section in the fridge would be a nice addition.

Main building is locked until 8am. Whether guests are working or vacationing, this seems very late to open the main building and staff the desk. There is a drop box for earlier checkout, which I used. However, snacks and hot beverages are not accessible until then, when I was long gone.

Spectacular location! Cliff Dweller is a favorite place to stay and I stop there often. Happy that Cliff Dweller has stayed open through the spring season.
