How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room was ok. 1. The light switch for the bathroom sink was next to the room door, instead of by the sink. 2. The door for the bathroom would not stay open, when opened to the room. It would stop in middle of the hall between the sink and bathroom. 3. The shower curtain was too short for the handicap shower. The water kept running onto the floor of the bathroom. We had to keep putting a towel on the tub to stop the water. 4. The heater/air conditioner would make a loud noise. Turning on and off randomly. My husband had to keep slapping heater/air conditioner with his hand at night to stop the noice. 5. Lastly, the maid did not service our room on Sunday 4/6/25. We left the room before noon. We removed the “Do Not Disturb” sign, expecting our room would be serviced, only to find the maid did not give us clean towels, the trash was not emptied, the bed was not made and the television remote was not working, so the TV was stuck on. We had to turn the television off manually when we got back in the evening from visiting family and my husband’s dad funeral.
Jim, Thank you for letting us know about the shower curtain. We just had the walk in part of the handicap shower installed. We will get that shower curtain replaced as soon as we find one of a much longer length. No one has told us about the heater/AC making noises until you, so I will have the maintenance man get right on that and find out if something is wrong with it and fix it or replace it. I wish you would have told us of these issues while you were here and we would have done our best to fix them for you right away. The housekeeping service. I would like to apologize for that. She did have written down that you had the Do Not Disturb sign on your door but the housekeepers know that they are supposed to go back through the halls and look for rooms that have taken their Do Not Disturb signs off of the doors and complete their rooms. Verified reviewThe location was great for us. It was easy to get to. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
We were placed in room 100. Families gather in the main breakfast area and this being the closest room it was noisy. Guests walk by room and stand nearby as they finish conversations for the night. Then the next morning noise again as the work out room is next door. This is not a room that should be used for guests. Breakfast - items like the potatoes and waffle mix were out and needed to be replenished. Only one other family in the breakfast area at the time as us. Checkout - No customer service was given. We weren't asked how our stay went.
I am so sorry you were disappointed in your stay with us. Next time we will make sure you are placed in a quieter room. I'm terribly sorry that the end of night conversations happens around your door. We will see what we can do to eliminate that from happening. I also apologize that the breakfast items were out and not replenished. This really isn't a usual thing. The staff usually is very good at keeping things replenished, and making sure there is enough for ALL. I will discuss the customer service issue at check out with the Front Desk Staff. Too far from original hotel I booked!!!
I apologize that this happened to you. We do not have access to the other hotels system so it wasn't us that moved you it would've been the Majestic Hills location that moved you and we just accomadated that reservation. I believe you were going to say you didn't get the extra bed that you requested, I am sorry. Next time just let my Front Desk Staff know if anything is forgotten and we will definately get it for you but we will do our best not to forget anything. I do hope you come again and stay with us. Shower had something in it..glue maybe? And we found a beetle in the bathroom..

We tried to fill some cracks in a couple of them and I apologize we might not have gotten all the filler sanded down enough. We will look into that. Again thank you for letting us know.
