How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No elevator for heavy luggage and cooler. There aren't may eating options nearby. There was a large construction crew that stayed the night and they were LOUD, smoked marijuana, left the emergency exit opened all night and caused us to stay awake until past midnight! Would not stay here again because of this experience and the hotel not being aware any of this was going on until we told them the next day. I work in the criminal justice system and I have very thick skin and am not easily scared by anyone but this crew was very rough looking and they were drinking and smoking all night without employees knowing or putting a stop to it!

Verified reviewEverything was amazing! From check in to check out and everything in between was perfect. The staff is incredible as well. They are very kind and accommodating. Anything we needed, they made it happen. The update / remodel is beautiful. The rain style shower heads are certainly a +. The beds are comfortable with 3 fluffy pillows and the soft, not too hot, not too cold thicker blanket between the flat sheet and the bed protector blanket that everyone loves, makes it feel like your own bed at home. The refrigerator, shower, toilet, and around the bathroom vanity are my pickiest points and at Country Hearth ALL points in the entire room were spotless! Far exceeding our expectations! My husband is an OTR truck driver and our visit was to attend Dr. visits addressing quite concerning health issues I’ve been having, however since my husband still has to work we were traveling in his 18 wheeler. While we were bobtail at arrival, none of the staff had an issue with us parking in the empty spot at the side of the hotels parking lot. They were more welcoming and kind to us during our time of worry than we’d have expected. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel property. EVERYTHING was clean and it was peaceful. We slept wonderfully and the breakfast with coffee was hot and ready at 5am. Our showers left us feeling clean and the comfy beds helped us relax. It was a wonderful visit and I cannot wait to see our new, sweet friends again for another special evening. A HUGE, heartfelt, THANK YOU, to Karen and her staff for an exceptional evening when we had to be away from home, and wanted a night out of my husbands truck!

Rooms located close to the lobby, where a continental breakfast is served each morning, may experience loud talking and other noise very early in the morning. I was awakened both mornings of my stay.

False advertising. You can’t claim to be a pet-friendly location and then reject guests for having cats. In your definition, “pet-friendly” means dogs only and cats are excluded. Our cats are smart, quiet, clean, and far less trouble than many dogs. And allergies? I’m allergic to dogs, and dog and cat allergies are equally common, so that argument doesn’t hold weight. Most importantly, don’t tell me I “should have known” to call and ask if cats are allowed when you advertise as pet-friendly. That is blaming me for your misleading listing. Should I also have to call to confirm if parking is free, breakfast is included, there is a microwave in the room, or the building has walls and a roof? It is not my fault you allow Booking.com to label your property as “pet-friendly.” They did not do anything wrong. Bad info in, bad info out. Overall, Misleading listing. We arrived at 10 PM after being on the road all day, only to be told our cats weren’t allowed despite the property being advertised as pet-friendly. The lady at the front desk was kind, but Karen (the owner) made it my fault that she is misleading potential guests. You wouldn’t make an exception even though we had a crate to keep them contained. Our stay never happened because of your false advertising. #CatsArePetsToo

Pictures are not the same-the outside is a dark gray only. The room is small and doesn’t have a nightstand. We had to pull a chair over by the bed. It was renovated but not a clean smell or feel on the floor. Our room was connected to another room with a door and you could hear everything.
