Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMost of the staff were friendly and excellent. One staff member was very dismissive and cold to me when I tried to discuss a concern. Policy is to lock over $450 in case of room charges or damage, which wasn't advised upfront. This is very high in my experience and caused difficulties for me as an international traveller. This is picky, but I really didn't like that the room only had paper cups, given the cost of the room. Also didn't like that the room service we treated ourselves to on the first night came in cardboard containers in a paper bag with plastic cutlery.
I paid extra for the lake view and they were stunning. Honestly, the best part of the hotel stay was being able to watch the seaplanes land and the boats do their thing. Rooms were comfortable and clean. TV was huge with good channel selection. Great location for downtown attractions.

United StatesThe "oversize" parking only mean "taller" vehicles. Payin $50 to park in a sardine can is a nightmare! DO NOT BRING A PICKUP OR FULL SIZE SUV! I like that the garage was secure, but it takes an 85 point turn to park and leave/enter the garage. Other than the overpriced tight parking I am very happy with this place.
Great location near the water. Hostoric information all over. Very pleasant efficient staff. Clean rooms and facilities.

GermanyI wish the quality of the products (e.g., burger and its bread) was better for a Courtyard hotel but I guess it's a matter a balancing the budget and the cost of the dishes was very reasonable. But that's not a deal breaker and the atmosphere wins anyway.
Great location on Lake Union. Very nice and friendly staff at the front desk and the restaurant/bar. Nice amenities. Spacious rooms. Very clean. The restaurant staff and the general atmosphere are excellent, both familial and professional, where you can gather with friends after a working day or open your laptop and work undisturbed. I will go again!

Location was great, and fairly easy to get to. Walking distance from a lot of attractions in Seattle. Room was quiet and had a lovely view.

United StatesYou have to pay $40 for parking if you have a car. There was a party going on when I checked in during the afternoon and they blocked the entry way even though there were signs saying not to. There appeared to be staffs outside assisting with luggage but no one said anything.

United StatesNo outdoor areas to sit and have a drink/coffee. No pool. Lots of construction happening very close by.
The courtyard is a good hotel -- nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. I wish there had been an outdoor patio/courtyard for guests, and I also wish they had a pool, but it is right across from Lake Union where you can watch people swimming and paddleboarding. You can walk or run the Lake Union trail, or take a decent walk to downtown and/or Seattle center. It's a great location if you don't mind some decent walks. The neighborhood was better than expected even with all the construction, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

United StatesPrimarily the cost, but I'm putting that down mainly to Seattle being a bit more expensive. Also, amenities would go a long way.
Staff and cleanliness were top notch. We had some problems with the pillowcases on check in but housekeeping rectified it immediately.

United StatesHidden charges like occupancy tax, parking tax and tourism fee. Besides county tax there are two extra taxes for newly $25 per day to add on, plus Parking fee $40 a day is already too expensive and another parking tax for $9.90 ! I think it’s too outrageous and expensive to stay at this hotel.
Bed was comfortable, location was ok Breakfast was nice but wish it can be like buffet style so we didn’t have to wait .
