How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewModern room, clean, super comfortable beds. We were visiting Legoland wich is just 30 min drive, so it was a perfect price-quality ratio to compare with hotels in Middletown. Beacon and Newburgh are both 10 and 15 min drive, so it's a perfect location to explore the area.
The air conditioning is a bit noisy.

Verified reviewVery close to the highway, convenient access. They had just redone the breakfast room. Nice and clean.
The upgrades to room were very cheaply done. Floor creaked with movement on bed. They had removed the latch lock from door, leaving only lock initiated with key card. Only given one small bar of soap to use for both hand washing and shower . The elevator would freeze requiring a reset by front desk staff. The volume on TV was intermittent. Would have to turn off and back on for it to work.

One elevator only and would break down. Have to walk down 4 flights to get them to reset elevator. . This was very difficult with our luggage. However staff was very apologetic and explained they were going through a remodel

We booked this hotel partly because it supposedly had a gym. But it was closed for renovations. There was a horrible smell of smoke in our bathroom at times. Our fridge froze all our items every day.

Verified reviewdoors on bathroom I had to repair as whom aver they have installing all doors in bathrooms in all of the rooms need to put the correct screws in door frames as they are metal frames and they are using wood screws with plastic plugs in holes

Verified reviewThe bed was comfortable. The location was great for food and shopping. It is also a good location for my family to visit my son at West Point and will be traveling oftem there for the next 4 years.
I arrived almost 12 am on Friday due to distance from airport. When I finally settled, I wanted ice forbmy water. When I went looking for it, I found that their machine was out of order. Front desk staff was coached to say "Sorry for the renovations we are doing, soon we will be a Hilton Spark. If you want ice, the gas station next door is open 24 hrs. you can purchase some." I was floored that they didn't have a plan B to keep customers satisfied. I was also inconvenienced with their elevator. The 4 story hotel had one of the slowest elevators I have experienced. Additionally, when I was checking out, I waited over 5 minutes for the elevator and gave up. I walked the 3 flights down with my luggage to find that the elevator was not working due to a tripped fuse as they are "renovating." I am glad I am able-bodied and that my elderly father did not join my trip. I loved the location, so I do hope that once it has been converted to a Hiton that they will improve on their service, especially due to wanting to bring more family next time which includes my elderly parents.

The elevator didn’t work at some point and my mother in law had to used the stairs and she is 79 years old but luckily it was just for a little bit

Verified reviewThe hotel is under major refurbishment. The bed and room were spectacularly clean and the decor/comfort was excellent. I was traveling alone and felt safe. The staff was friendly and the location suited for a Renegades game. Near shopping, restaurants and fuel, easy access to the highway.
There was no sign, and the lobby was a bit scary. There was no ice available. I bought a cup of ice at the gas station next door. I am sure these things will be resolved when the refurbishment is complete.

Upon checking in and going to our room, we unpleasantly discovered someone else was already staying in that room. Had to be re-assigned to another room. The building is dated and worn-looking. Some renovations are underway--hopefully this improves things.
