We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesThe TV didn't work and I called the front desk. He came to the room and reset everything and said if it didn't start properly in about 5 minutes to call him back. It didn't start but I didn't call him back because we were already undressed. The room was very cold. I kept raising the temp on the heater and it didn't get any better. I found that the heat was blowing under a table that was placed too close and building up heat made the thermostat kick the heater off. I moved the table and the room started getting warm.

United StatesThe person working the desk at check in was not friendly or enthusiastic. Not rude, just seemed bored. Never smiled. The person who was at the desk at check out was completely the opposite. Very nice guy.
The room was very clean and functional. Lots of conveniently located electrical outlets. Easy to plug in the electronics and phone charger. I also got a good rate using booking.com

United StatesThe room I requested thru booking.com showed king bed and the room I was given was 2 full beds. On top of that room wreaked of cannabis and could hear thru the walls of a lovely couple expressing their passion for one another
Staff was fine other than the fact that he didn't say a word other than hand gesture for identification.

Our room card didn’t work at first and I went to the service desk and he kept telling me he was going to follow me to my room to fix the card, never showed up. I went back to get him and he said he was coming and then again, never showed up. Took me about 20 minutes to get into my room. Microwave didn’t work.

United StatesI booked online over a week prior to my trip for a king size bed and then upon arrival was given a room with 2 double beds. they never told me anything and we discovered it when we got to the room. when I went and asked, they said they were booked and didn’t have anymore king beds. I would never have booked at their facility had I known the bed facility because there were other hotels that I could have booked at. also, I do appreciate a clean room and knowing that it is disinfected, but whatever they used burned my eyes and throat and I couldn’t breath or sleep well.

United StatesI have noticed that with most of these places that I stay in the air conditioners are never cleaned. They may be serviced but they are not cleaned. So it causes a musty smell in the room like there's mold. The water drains out the front onto the floor instead of out the back where it's supposed to drain. That's because he's air conditioners are not serviced they're not cleaned. Maya found this and most of the rooms that I have to stay in. You say something to management and it's like okay, okay. I used to work part-time with an AC man, real good friend. We would go to doctor's offices as well as motels and clean the air conditioners and replace the filters. This is a must for all air conditioners it's the life of an air conditioner. I wish I would consider doing this tomorrow the air conditioners in these rooms it would be so much more efficient and the room would smell so much better.
