Getting in had some challenges. I’m 5’2”, 67 years old. I could barely reach the lock box and had to try several times to get it open because I couldn’t see it very well and reaching up that high is hard on the shoulders. Parking in the ramp was difficult. My car is very large, Buick Lucerne 2007. I was not sure I was going to be able to make that turn at the top, especially going down. I got in without scraping anything so I knew it was possible but it was nerve wracking going back down. I did not see a spiral staircase anywhere so I had to walk up and down the ramp. Hard on the knees. I was holding on to those dirty railings where they were reachable.

The apartment was very nice and comfortable. The video system worked well. The location was excellent. I went to DesMoines to attend the Heart concert at the Civic Center on Saturday night. It was a short walk! I choose your place because of its proximity. Driving in an unfamiliar city is difficult, especially at night. Street parking was available close to the entrance when I needed it for getting my things in and out.

Checking in to find the key is a little complicated but worked.

Room is spacious with many convenient features. Wireless charging on night stand. Cooking is convenient with provided oil, soy sauce, salt, vinegar etc. projector TV is easy to use, can login with own Netflix account. Checkout is convenient, no need to load dishes etc. Showroom is modern and clean, with good quality shampoo and conditioner

Although there is ample hanging space, there are no drawers (except in the kitchen) so nowhere to store other clothes. There are wire shelves for other stuff, but these were mostly occupied (with spare kitchen rolls, etc). The apartment would benefit from a chest of drawers in the big cupboard (there is room on the right under the shelf) and from half of the shelves being left clear for guests. The biggest drawback was that the apartment had not been cleaned properly, but we understand that on this occasion the owners had had to clean it themselves (they refunded us the cleaning charge). We presume the normal cleaners would not miss the microwave (important as food remnants there are a fire risk) and would sweep into the corners, though the dust on the bathroom glass shelves and the extent of fluff in the washing machine lint drawer suggested that even previous cleans could have been better.

The size, location and facilities of the apartment are superb. It is downtown with a free shuttle in each direction to the main downtown sights (Capitol one way and sculpture park the other). Despite being downtown it comes with free parking in an adjacent garage. It has great table + breakfast bar space and many excellent small touches like a bathroom night light and a kettle, both of which may sound routine, but this was the only apartment of the four we stayed in during our tour which had these. Shower excellent (hand-held as well as rain), air-con good and kitchen well stocked, though could do with 4+ plates, bowls & mugs instead of 3.

Great location, a well-appointed property, clean and very quiet. It's an interesting historic building that has kept select items in common areas from its past as a hotel. Great hotel alternative for business or personal visits.

We couldn’t find the parking garage, but Kyle answered my call right away and explained how to find it. Maybe in the listing you could describe it as the brown doors across the street from Fong’s. We got confused with the parking ramp on the other side of the block. No other issues. Kyle was very responsive.

Although it was nice to have safe parking, it was kind of inconvenient with the key FOB trying to get in and out of the parking space and in and out of the building with all of the codes, I understand it is very secure, however. Next time I would just park in the Parkade behind the building

Awesome all the way around!!

Amazing location right down town - near restaurants, the civic center, and farmers market. Super clean, extremely comfortable place to stay. Very comfortable couch with a great TV (wall screen!), and super comfortable bed with soft sheets. Kitchen had all the needed aspects such as coffee maker, tea kettle, dishes for cooking, etc. had a parking spot in the garage right next door so we had off street parking which was a huge bonus. Communication from the hosts before and after was top notch! Would love to stay there again!

The location was excellent! Very easy to find, lots of restaurants and activities within walking distance. The architecture of the historical building is incredible and the unit itself is beautiful. Everything we needed was there and the instructions for everything were easy to understand and appreciated.

The apartment is very cozy and nice, with an open floor layout. The location is excellent, the building is an architectural classic, and the skywalk system will take you all around the city center. If you have questions, the staff is only a text message away. (They are very prompt.)

I really like the apartment. Location, cleaning and overall elements required for a business trip were there. I really felt comfortable and I would love to stay there on a future visit to Des Moines.

Finding the location of the lock box was our only issue but the host was super helpful directing us exactly where to go when we contacted him.

The condo is super cute, the hosts are accommodating and the location is excellent. Everything we needed was there or within walking distance. We loved that there was a safe and secure parking ramp space right beside the building to use. The place was comfortable, relaxing and felt like home!

There were several cleanliness/supply issues that were addressed to the owner as requested. The parking garage was rather sketchy, either walk down a one lane ramp or a steep circular staircase. I would not recommend this accommodation to senior citizens.

Beautifully decorated apartment. Bed and linens extremely comfortable. Great wi-fi. Could see State Fair fireworks from our window.
