Newark, Ohio has really developed its downtown incorporating the new while keeping its history. The courthouse is beautiful and as long as commom pleas is not in session you can view the old courtroom which is gorgeous. The arcade, which was built in 1909 is full of stores is really something to see. Quite a few restaurants (all price range) within easy walking distance from the Doubletreel

I'm not certain if the Elements ( which is in the Doubletree) is actually part of the hotel but the bar was not tended very well during a reunion (50 people) that we attended. No one was behind the bar for 20 minutes at a time. The breakfast buffet was great, large selection and quickly replenished.

I attended a festival at Legend Valley, so location for me was great. Small town nearby with restaurants and bars. Enjoyed the free welcome cookie from reception when checking in.

The first night there was no 'do not disturb sign' so got woke up early after a long drive. The second day, a test fire alarm went off at 11am, which again disturbed my sleep. My room was never cleaned the while time I was there, and I had to get fresh towels myself from reception.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. It was close to plenty of shops and services and the parking lot was huge, so plenty of parking close to the hotel. The neighborhood was safe and you could walk around the entire downtown Newark, Ohio area. Our rooms were close together as we requested and the rooms were spacious and clean. There is also a Starbucks and and the hotel restaurant located in the hotel lobby.

Water damaged room carpet was stained Paid 12.95 for breakfast and was basic

The staff was excellent and friendly. Very clean and in a nice area Newark Ohio .

No microwave in rooms.

There was some trash behind the trash can on the floor a stain on the one blanket

Location, staff, cleanliness, rooms , lobby is exceptional

The only thing I have to put is the elevators need to be serviced they do seem to be in need of greasing due to noise and sticking doors but Everything else makes that a minor concern, so all in all 10 for me

The evening staff was wonderful. She was kind, offered cookies and was there to assist in any way she could. Wish I could remember her name but she’s a huge asset.

Staff was friendly and helpful, our suite was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the location is perfect for walking to the Midland Theater and multiple restaurants.

Overpriced.No safe in the room. AC problems. Mold in the shower. Each night a different price. Overall WAY too overpriced.
