How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The pools aren’t heated and basically couldn’t be used due to the unseasonable cool weather. A few kitchen tools would help (towel, oven mitts, etc. to use the kitchenette.

Verified reviewBreakfast was delicious, and the staff was very friendly at the restaurant, and throughout the hotel. The room was super clean and decorated beautifully. The front desk was super accommodating about checking into our room early and it was a smooth experience. We enjoyed the balcony and view from there, and the front desk hooked us up with a wine bottle opener when we realized we forgot one! Access to the beach was perfect and it was such a comfort being able to come right back to our room or enjoy the pool afterward. Our room location was great, and we appreciated the direct access to the parking garage from our room. We can’t wait to come back!
I loved the hot tub, but the amount of young children jumping in and out of it (even with the parents there)kind of took away from the adults being able to enjoy it fully. I feel if there isn’t going to be a lifeguard on duty, rules should be posted for safety reasons first, since the kids were jumping off the side of the hot tub into the pool, which isn’t that deep and I think someone could have gotten hurt. Otherwise it was a nice experience being able to enjoy it to some extent!

I haven't been back to OC in years and it did not disappoint. The beach was very clean and not too crowded. The room was cute, clean and cozy. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There was an issue with the fire alarm during our stay. It kept going off and staff did not explain what the issue was. First time it went off, we evacuated as instructed. I have no issue with evacuating during emergencies. The issue was it went off 3 more times where the message was cut off so we had to check to see if we needed to evacuate and staff said we didn't. It occurred again the next day with the message cut off and when asked staff what the issue was they were vague. I suspect it had something to do with the elevators because they weren't working.

Verified reviewThe hotel is clean and in a slightly quieter part but still very close to everything like the boardwalk. Staff was amazing, has a Starbucks in the lobby too! Balcony has a solid wall divider so you have privacy from other rooms while sitting outside. Parking garage was right beside the hotel, and for hotel guests only. The room had a bathroom with a shower/tub and sink and toilet. PLUS there was an additional vanity with a sink outside of the bathroom so you could still use it while someone else was in the main bathroom. There was an additional toilet that was on its own, so nobody had to wait . Being a family that was a plus.
That we did not stay longer!! Would definitely go back, awesome experience! Recommend 10/10

The rooms were not what they thought. We booked rooms with balconies over the ocean and one room had view of wall with ocean to left and other room had direct view of pool with ocean in distance. Could not be on balcony without everyone from pool looking at us. Could not leave curtains open as people in pool Could see in our room. Water leaking from ceiling. King size bed is queen bed and queen size beds are full size. Staff friendly but now accommodating

The staff seemed like they hate their jobs with excessive use of sarcasm, said they would call when the room was ready and never did. We booked and paid for an ocean front room and had a “lovely” view of a sand dune. We couldn’t even see the beach or the waves. They couldn’t get us another room. The toilet was broken and they failed to fix it. Luckily the room had a second toilet.
