Only 10 insanely small parking spots that are not exclusively used by hotel guests. Our windows were awful. Being on the second floor, it didn’t feel like a critical risk but the screens were broken and dilapidated. The room was very hot. The AC was barely able to cool the room, but did so after running several hours. Neither the water pressure nor the hot water were strong.

The bathroom was clean, spacious and relatively newly renovated. The carpet was not disgusting, perhaps also relatively new. There were no odd smells or stains.

The wifi is a little bit weak.

The location is very good, we took bart there only took 5 mins. The bed is quite big and the staff was very nice, we arrived lately but she also helped us check in.

The bed itself, may have needed a new pair of sheets. I couldn’t sleep inside of it as I found hair and stains on the towels. Besides that it’s was good for the price. I would say just double checking the sheets before you go in and asking if there needs to be a change.

I liked the location, the staff, and rooms were good for the price. The front desk was very personable and enjoyed talking to her, made the checking in process welcoming.

The wifi was virtually non-existent. The owner was kind enough to reboot the router but it didn’t change anything. The wifi only worked in one corner of the room, where there was no desk, so I had to improvise. I ended up spending a lot of my data plan because the wifi did not work properly.

The quality/value was good, the owner was very kind, and was happy to keep my bags in storage after check in which made it much easier to go about my day! The room was clean and comfortable.

The curtains were shredded. Rug in room was old, worn. This lack of maintenance in the room unnecessarily mars the appearance of room space that is actually a decent size and clean.

Good location. Most reasonably priced hotel in downtown Berkeley. Close to BART and walking distance to anywhere you'd want to go in the city.

The only thing missing was a mini fridge, but overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again!

I had a great stay at Downtown Berkeley Inn while attending a conference at UC Berkeley. The staff was very friendly and accommodating—I was able to check in around noon without any issues and could leave my luggage after check-out to pick up later. The room was spotless, with a comfortable bed that made for a restful stay. The location is excellent, just a short walk to UC Berkeley, plenty of restaurants and cafes, and only minutes from the BART station, making it easy to get to downtown San Francisco and the airport.

The free parking was fine, but limited. If you got there early, you could find a spot but then you had to stay or it would be gone when you returned.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I requested a mini fridge two days before my stay and it was there all set up and running when I arrived. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed very comfortable. Location is perfect for downtown activities.

Heating system in winter takes a while to start up. Windows did not open in my room.

The wooden-slab-looking bed frame sticks out about 8 inches all around. It looks very cool but is ill conceived, as a bruised shin is all but guaranteed until you learn to give it an unusually wide berth.

Accommodating, kindly desk staff, clean room despite the room and furnishings being quite long in the tooth. Location very convenient to downtown Berkeley BART. (Walk south on Shattuck then R on Bancroft.)
