Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

we had to leave :(
We are always excited to come here! Everything is always excellent: the staff, the cleanliness, comfort, safety, and of course the location right across from the lake. This time we did something different, The weather was perfect and we took a boat tour which is operated out of the motel gift shop. it was such a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was Captain Chris who is a lifelong resident of the area, The tour took about an hour and he gave us a lot of information about the history and locales of the the lake. He also was a great boat operator and we felt safe with him. We will definitely be going on a another boat ride in the future when we come back. Great restaraunt up the road, Gresham's Chop House,

We had to leave! we look forward to coming back!
we last were here 3 years ago. We love coming here! The room is immaculate and HUGE! Lots of storage, lots of seating and tables or nightstands. Nicely decorated. Very well lit, inside and out, Clean, comfortable beds, Lots of pillows to choose from. heating and AC worked well Great location, right across from the lake, lots of nearby activities and great restaurants, right outside of the town of Hawley.

The only thing I would suggest it to put extra towels in the closet. There were only two. Also more towel hooks would be great

There honestly wasn't a single thing we had any issues with
Beautiful location, great rate, staff were really awesome and friendly. The lake is RIGHT THERE! Took advantage of the walking trails and booked a lake tour right at the gift shop. Will def be staying here again!

I have stayed at East Shore a few times and always felt welcomed, but not this time. I had booked the Deluxe king room 7 and I guess because I was alone one of the ladies at the front desk seemed suspicious that I would be staying in a room that size. She knocked on my door less then an hour that I was there and said someone called her and said I asked for x-tra sheets, which I did not. Her story did not seem believable and I felt she thought other people were staying in my room and she wanted to check up on that. It made me feel uncomfortable and disappointed. I am going through chemotherapy treatments and just wanted to treat myself to a bigger room.

The pull out couch was very uncomfortable, and the quilt was a bit rough. Accessing ice was a bit annoying. There was a small try of ice cubes in the mini fridge/freezer. However, if you needed more after hours, you were out of luck until the next morning.
The location to the lake was great. The room was spacious and overall clean. Check-in was smooth and getting into the room was easy. The pillows and the bed were comfortable. We had a minor situation with some bed linens, and we needed to contact the host after hours. They were very understanding and promptly brought what we needed. The mini fridge kept our drinks cold.

Couldn’t see the signs for room 11 from the parking lot, so we weren’t sure where to park or if the room even existed at first. Found it when we got out and walked around. Had to unplug the nightstand clocks to plug in phone charging cords, but fortunately the clocks had battery back up and reset themselves immediately on being plugged back in.
Spacious, clean room. Nicely appointed.

The room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. View of lake was a bonus. Enjoyed contactless checkin. The porch was an added great extra.
