The only king sized beds are in smoking rooms. The key had to be reprogrammed daily. It’s older and it is dated. The towel bar in the bathroom kept falling off the wall.

The property is very close to the beach entrance. You are not located on the water, and you don’t have a water view, but it is just a very short walk.

Some of the staff members stared a lot which made me feel a little bit uncomfortable. I had originally booked for 2 nights but ended up only needing the room for one night and when I checked out the clerk messed up and charged me for a single nights stay instead of refunding me for the night I wasn’t staying for and it took a while for it to sort itself out on my credit card. But I never had to call and complain they fixed it on their end so they did realize their mistake and fix it on their own so they get props for that.

I loved that it was across the from Captain Groovy’s so I didn’t have to sit in my room all night. They just had a hurricane come through so they were doing renovations on the lower level. It was your average hotel room and a reasonable price for the night.

I didn't like that I could hear people in the room, (the entire conversation) I didn't like how we couldn't actually lock the room door. Even though the door was locked from the outside, it didn't feel secured to me for the inside. The bed could be a little updated. I felt like a college bed, uncomfortable. But it was just a place to sleep overnight and go home the next day.

Traveling from the Virginia Beach fieldhouse to the hotel was a short distance away. It was close to a beach and close to get back and forth for the boardwalk. This was an overnight stay. It was a good stay.

Surprisingly good quality for a motel branded Econo Lodge. Although the building is a bit dated, my room on the second floor was very clean, well equipped, everything in good working order. Friendly staff, good location close to the beach and to restaurants and supermarkets. Recommended.

Although we had a non-smoking room, the room did have a strong smoking odor to it. The room was very clean, but the smoker odor was very noticeable. The beds were not the most comfortable, and there were not any extra blankets or pillows in the room.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the nearby marinas for transients, and Norfolk has about any amenity or store you could ever need close by. The area, despite its reputation, felt safe.

Cleanliness of the bathroom shower area

There is NO wheelchair accessibility that I could see. It is an approximate 4”-6” step up from the parking lot to get to any of the first floor rooms. Therefore, anyone with mobility issues would have trouble getting from the parking lot to their room.

The location was perfect for where we needed to be.

I thought there was at least continental breakfast/ cereal or something. Was just coffee. Not a big deal since McDonald’s was right there. But there’s a “breakfast” sign above the coffee pot and area where looks like they would have some basic food, and tables around. So I assumed breakfast when I checked in. Not a big deal , I would stay again

Decent motel with relatively few frills. Safe, warm, comfortable so all the basics covered. Friendly welcome on arrival. Reasonably priced.

The smell of the smoking rooms kind of lingers in the area so I still smelled it a little in my non-smoking room. Not bad just slightly noticeable.

It's a decent place to go to sleep for a good price. There is WiFi available I just didn't use it. I'm not sure if breakfast was served but they had a little corner where it looks like they serve it in the check in area. Lots of restaurants nearby.
