How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The photos do not reflect the property now. Property is very tired, not maintained and worn down. Room doors have multiple locks but feel flimsy.

Verified reviewIf I could post pictures on here I would. The room was terrible. There was mold growing everywhere in the room. The shower was dirty and the sink leaks which ruined an expensive pair of leather boots. The refrigerator was tiny and made a lot of noise. No cable like it says. The pool was closed. One of the lady staff was extremely rude to my mother-in-law. This place needs a lot of help. I would like my money back for the stay and all of my cleaning deposit money back.

Unclean, dirty room, bathroom was disgusting, old worn out furniture, we did not unpack a thing and couldn’t get out of there fast enough in the morning. Front desk staff told us that the pool was permanently closed the second after we paid. False advertising on the type of room booked, the room type from booking.com specifically said two queen beds AND a pull out couch. There was no couch, and the unfriendly staff, who couldn’t have cared less said that is out of their control what booking.com posts, we are a family of 5 and had to sleep 3 in one undersized queen bed. Also, there was not a posted phone number anywhere to contact the desk directly when Google maps took us to the wrong location and made it so we were past check in time after a full day of travel. Still made us pay for the missed night after spending hundreds of dollars to get an available room in the area at 11:00 at night.

Somehow, they were unable to contact us or Booking.com to inform us in advance. Despite this, the full amount for our stay was charged. It’s been almost two months that I’ve been trying to get a refund — emailing, calling, and even visiting the hotel in person — with no success. I checked Google reviews and realized I’m not the only one; they do this regularly, and it’s nearly impossible to get your money back. I’m wondering if Booking.com is aware of this, because it seems like an ongoing scam that’s been operating for a while.

Said it had a pool, it didn't. Said they had breakfast, they didn't. Workers seemed like they hated everyone, rude and unwelcoming. The room stunk and the bathroom looked gross. There were bugs in the room. Many stains on the walls and towels.

We made a reservation half a year (!) in advance. When we arrived at 9:30 PM, the receptionist told us - and the guests in front of us - that the motel was overbooked. They had resold our room to other people for more money, without cancelling our booking on Booking.com, and still charged my credit card for the stay! All nearby hotels were either fully booked or extremely expensive, so we had no choice but to go to the only affordable place with availability, which was in a dangerous neighborhood (drugs, homeless people, etc.). My girlfriend couldn’t sleep because she was afraid. Neither the motel nor Booking.com offered any help. We even called Booking's Priority Support, but got nowhere. I’m extremely disappointed in both this motel and Booking.com. Please do not book here if you actually want to have a place to sleep.

Our reservation was canceled because you are overbooked. It's ironic to ask me to rate my stay. It has caused us the last-minute panic to get a hotel for that night and pay 345.00 for our new room. I would have said your place looked decent and had good value, but since I didn't get to stay. And I will never book another oyo property.
