Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaUnfortunately the other guests were quite difficult. One guy in my room had dreadful personal hygiene and was very messy; another older guy kept telling everyone that he had some sort of cough/virus...while coughing all over us all night. Neither of these two were the hostel's fault, of course, but made the nights pretty uncomfortable. I would've loved some body wash in the showers, since that's something that many guests can't bring if they're flying. I had to resort to hand soap which is...not ideal.
Staff were super lovely; common spaces were very clean and perfect for spending some time working; kitchen well-equipped and with plenty of basic staples (beans, rice, coffee, pancake mix, etc.). Lovely, friendly place in an eclectic and interesting neighbourhood. I was there in early April; I could tell that all the local gardens were about to erupt in spring flowers, and I enjoyed all the local independent cafes, breweries, etc.

United States of AmericaI wasn’t able to relax and mingle as long as I would have liked. I was traveling for a concert. The ambiance was really chill and relax and the staff I met were kind. The decorations and availability to games and things to do in the lounge/community areas seemed great. I upgraded to a full size bed and it was a bunk bed and a desk in a room. Good enough for me. They did have free breakfast but I don’t have time to enjoy that either. Those eating around the table were diverse in ages and seems to be enjoying themselves which was nice to see. The backyard looked like fun but the rain killed that option too. Places to eat were just about a block away which was nice to leave the car and walk there. It was still a great stay Thanks!!

The area, totally unexpected. The neighborhood is artsy. Not far from good bars (beergarden is a must to go) , close to food trucks and on.

United States of AmericaNothing bad to say.
The people are friendly, there's a library next door to my room, a yard with a fire pit and games, and a beautiful artistic aesthetic that surrounds the whole place. Within walking distance are so many great places to eat.

United States of AmericaIn hot weather, you need to open the windows in two areas, leave the doors open and run a portable fan. There is no A/C. I have no idea about how heat is conveyed in the winter.
Very reasonably priced for being on a budget. The bunk beds had excellent mattresses and were comfortable. Bathroom had a good shower with good pressure. Breakfast is DIY where you help yourself to eggs and bread to cook for yourself and clean your pots/pans, plates, cups and silverware. All worked very well! Everyone who worked there was friendly and very helpful! I would definitely stay there again. A very nice experience!!

I didn't eat breakfast there was kind of confused on how to get breakfast really being that it was more of a house setting and there weren't any available staff around aside from in the house across the street.

United States of AmericaYou have to be comfortable sharing a space with all kinds of people. I am a middle aged woman who has been staying in nice hotels and air bnbs my entire adult life. It took a minute to get used to .... and I loved it. I enjoyed pushing outside my normal comfort. It's a hostel, and still holds the same feel I remember from college. I love that aspect. Based on what it is, I couldn't be happier with this stop in Eugene. It's not frills... it's even better. Full expanse of Human, which is pretty hard to find.
Had a wonderful time staying at the Eugene Hostel. The space was comfortable, the shared areas were very well thought out, and the neighborhood really could not be beat. Excellent value and I look forward to coming through again.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom. The water pressure is so strong that it was painful to take a shower. The toilet seat is not fixed. But it was very clean! I didn't appreciate getting 11 emails/messages from Booking/hostel.
The private room has a separate entrance which I liked. The bed is very comfy. Breakfast was nice to have, and the coffee was great. Absolutely loved the outdoor area, great vibe. Huge media/music room, lots of seating areas indoors and outdoors.
