Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very barebones hotel. Seems to be tucked away in a not so great part of town (very remote). Bed was very rickety- not comfortable. The A/C fan was not working most of the time. Breakfast was non-existent- Just muffins and coffee.

The elevator did not work and I was told that the only rooms left were on the 3rd and 4th floor. I had to lug my luggage up 3 flights of stairs and it was just very inconvenient. I understand they had terrible coffee and no creamer. But the front desk was very nice about the whole issue.
Bed was very comfortable. I slept very well. The shower and bathroom were great. In fact the room was very good.

This was an odd place. I thought I had walked in the back entrance by mistake but found out it was actually the entrance. There is no lobby. It felt a little sketchy.
It was convenient to where I needed to be.

I actually ended up not needing the room and I left soon after I checked in. Unfortunately the hotel was unable to check me out or cancel the room because I booked it through booking .com

We had to ask for new bedding for both beds upon arrival. Also, they only gave us 2 towels for 3 people and needed to negotiate getting the third towel. We also needed to trade them in to get clean ones.

Would it hurt you to provide at least a few more things at your coffee station in the lobby? You know like normal creamer?

The hotel rooms weren't carpeted, the bed was not on a traditional frame, the walls were paper thin, and an insanely strong scent of Clorox in the room made me sick to my stomach.
The location was great! Just minutes away from shopping and restaurants.

I had an emotional support animal with me and a doctor's note they would not recognize it and I still had to pay for my pet. Many other hotels except emotional support animals, especially if you have a doctor's and will not charge you. The refrigerator in my room was off when I arrived I had food that I wanted to keep. It was water in the freezer section because it must have been defrosting or something. I had to call them they turned on the circuit breaker. It took a while for it to cool. I've never went to a hotel where the refrigerator was off especially when they are expecting a guest. Also I was on the first floor and the windows were unlocked. It didn't seem like the place was really cleaned well. Didn't smell fresh or anything in fact it's about a little bit like cigarette smoke.

Got in the room after a long day to try to get in the bed and there were dirty sheets left from the previous stay. Bathrooms were so nasty ! We stayed for two nights and didn’t have any towels!. I called down to get some and never got any !

Place was an illegal immigrant facility. Smelled like weed in the check in area. The hallways smelled of Asian or Thai food. The whole facility was dirty and people standing around everywhere and cars full of personal belongings in the parking lot.

The fact that no one notified me to 2 hours before I was to arrive from a long ride was not good business
Travel 9 hours for my reservation to be canceled without notice that was not fair and I should be complimented for something I had to search for another room took an hour cuz everything was booked up that weekend

I had my reservations for over a week and they decided to cancel my reservations bc the hotel overbooked. Didn't tell me till I got there and booking never made me aware either! So now I'm hours away from home and nowhere to stay! This place was disgusting anyway!!
