How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room was spacious. Two full beds and a pull out couch in the other room. It was aged, however the room was very clean and smelled nice. The pool is beautiful! The bar at the pool is great! The breakfast bar is also perfect for a quick easy breakfast. Location is close enough to downtown, but far enough away as well.

Verified reviewBeautiful hotel with gorgeous pool area. The room was comfortable and clean & plenty of parking which is much appreciated after our last experience at another hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly. They have an excellent, convenient shuttle to downtown Key West. The breakfast was amazing as well.

Avoid at All Costs – Rude Staff, Poor Conditions, and a Roach in the Bathroom I rarely write reviews, but our stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Key West was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences my family and I have ever had. To start, the service staff were incredibly rude not just cold or indifferent, but outright dismissive and unwelcoming. It felt like we were an inconvenience just by being there. The shuttle staff were no better; when we tried to board the shuttle early, the driver refused to open the door and ignored us completely. It was as if customer service was an afterthought. The room we were initially given had an air conditioner so loud, we literally couldn’t hear each other talk. We asked to be moved and thankfully were, but the damage was done. The breakfast was passable, but barely. Only one morning out of our stay included a meat option, which seemed odd for a hotel chain of this caliber. Even more frustrating, the photos on booking.com were completely misleading. The headboard had holes and there were holes in the wall next to the bed. We were told by staff that the hotel is "going through renovations soon," which explains the outdated, worn-down condition but doesn't excuse the false advertising. Another guest we spoke to admitted they only booked here because every other hotel in the area was full. That says a lot. And the final straw? We found a roach in the bathroom on our last night. At that point, we were beyond disgusted and ready to leave. This hotel claims to be a non-smoking hotel; however, I found a cigarette outside of our room and the first room we were placed into reeked of cigarette smoke. To the point where I’m sick right now because of it. Overall, this hotel failed on every level from hospitality and cleanliness to honesty and comfort. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere, even if it means driving a little farther.

The rooms needed some maintenance updates/minor cosmetic repairs, but it did not take away from a positive experience. Pillows though might as well have been sheets of paper.

Thank you to the group that worked their in the lobby, the young man let me know when and what time the fireworks would go off.He also moved his car for me so i could have parking.The lady that took care of the food for breakfast. the false advertising of the shower for a handicap person. Was not the shower we had, and please fix the 1985 shower head , I do have pictures of what we got in room 158 the petri dish of a shower head needs to be changed, the mold on the pictures in the room. not enough lighting A little batteries light that you can push on and off under the counter would have worked, but you don't have it with the cabinets were coffee is placed. the gate by the handicap parking that is broken. They guy you have rentals with was overwhelmed and short staffed, but it's a island, work together as I asked " Any one else that is on the island that i can rent from". (golf-carts) is a big key for a island life and handicap people. and the way you guys are losing money by air conditioning ,the patio door and lock to that room(it doesn't shut).

Verified reviewThe location was not bad. The breakfast was included even though we did not eat there. The pool area was nice. It was relatively quiet.
The hotel is a little out dated. No room service for a 2 night stay. We were not given the option. Parking was not included. Fees but no room service. It was overpriced.
