How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was good!
Hi, although there are many choices, the main theme up there is gouging , overpriced because of the proximity to Florida State University… However, if you’re going to be overpriced, then at least have a hotel that is clean, a bathroom sink that drains, the rugs throughout very dirty dingy, it just gave you an overall feeling of old Worn out, just not typical Marriott caliber. We were very disappointed we will not return, and that is unfortunate because we are Marriott timeshare owners in Aruba and Palm Desert Springs villas so nothing against Marriott …We will look for something more economical and updated…. If you are going to stay there, do not stay on the main street side of the building. It feels like the cars are right in your bed with you. We travel tons, we are not afraid to pay to stay, but as I say if you’re going to charge this price, then have the accommodation to back it up. Thank you.

Verified reviewcomfortable, clean room, great parking, several luggage carts, convenient to major thoroughfares
No bathroom fan. Heavy on the air freshener in the lobby. Really hits ya. Pow. Breakfast was extra, room was inexpensive... math probably works out, but the feeling of paying a premium remains on the guest to process.
Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. We're glad to hear you found your room comfortable and clean, and that the parking, luggage carts, and convenient location added to your stay. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Verified reviewDated. I’d be scared to know what bacteria lives in the carpets that have never been cleaned. The bathroom looks like it did when it was built. No upgrades. The room was so humid, I was sticking to the sheets, someone with asthma humidity is not what you want when you sleep. The smell in the lobby was so strong I had to run through, like a bad cologne. Remote did not work, nor did the phone that was full of makeup. White stain on the ottoman that looked fresh. Food was overpriced and gross. Positive was, close to FSU, elevators were fast and the bartender was friendly; when I went to order my food, because there was no menu and no phone to use. Lesson learned. I’ll stay father away next time, for a better stay.
All of it
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about the condition of your room and the discomfort you experienced during your stay. What you described is far from the standard we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the multiple issues you encountered. While we’re glad to hear you found our location convenient and had a positive interaction with our bartender, it’s clear we fell short in providing the quality stay you deserve. We appreciate your honest feedback and will use it to make meaningful improvements.

Verified reviewHotels are all the same in this price range.
I’d like to offer a friendly piece of advice to help prevent ongoing issues and customer confusion regarding breakfast charges. To avoid future misunderstandings, I recommend eliminating the option to pay for breakfast during the online booking process—whether through Booking.com or your own website. Instead, clearly state that breakfast is paid on the premises only. It seems your hotel has been facing recurring problems due to incorrect pre-configuration on booking platforms. This small change could significantly improve guest satisfaction and relieve your staff from handling daily complaints or claims related to this issue. It’s not about the money—it’s about transparency. Guests don’t appreciate feeling misled, and these small misunderstandings can damage the trust and experience you work so hard to build. Take it or leave it, but I believe this would be a simple and effective improvement.

Verified reviewThe location is great. We did not eat there. When we booked, I selected a filter for Continental breakfast. There was no continental breakfast. The staff was OK. The location worked for what we needed it to do.
There was a mixup with my last name and first name. There was also a mixup with the duration of stay. The at the end of the day, it all worked out, but their phones were down and I ended up having to leave my daughter’s college orientation to drive back to the hotel because I could not call to fix the problem.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that there was a mix up with your name but we're glad to hear that everything was cleared up. We hope should you return to the area you would consider us again in the future.
