To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaWe would have loved for the pool to be accessible especially since it was full & looked clean. So it felt like a teaser not to be able to go.
Even though it was 40 min bus ride from Dallas, we found the location of this motel very convenient with a gas station next door and a Walmart, Dollarama, Wendy's, and a full shopping center just a 3-minute walk away. The one bus was frequent enough for us to get in and out and we loved that we could walked to parks close by.

United States of AmericaThe bathtub had a dip in the middle to where you couldn’t stand flat in the tub. The tub was tiny once again barely had space to stand or turn around. The was also very slippery and no handle anywhere insight in case of a slip. The body towels were half the size of a normal towel. The sheet had cigarette holes all over them.
The room had no carpet so it was pretty clean, the AC worked, my vehicle was parked by room so I felt more secure in knowing I should be able to hear any mischief. Microwave and fridge worked properly.
