Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe French Quarter Inn was a great spot close to the Market. It was an easy walk to explore the Market, the Waterfront park, dining and shopping. The Inn itself was lovely and light filled. The room was spacious and clean. I absolutely loved the Pillow Menu! My husband and I like different types of pillows and we both got exactly what we needed. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that a variety of cold (and hot) drinks were available in the lobby at all times during our stay. In fact, the food here went beyond what I had imagined. The breakfast included cold and hot choices, yogurt and eggs to meats, cheeses and pastries. And lots of fresh fruit. It was all fresh and delicious. The wine & cheese hour was the nicest surprise ... I knew there was one, and I have enjoyed this amenity at inns before ... but at the French Quarter, there were actually several choices of wine (including Prosecco) and quite a spread of cheeses, meats, nuts and other accoutrements. We took ours out to one of the sundecks upstairs. Cookies and milk in the evening was another treat. Oh, and the candy bar! That was another fun surprise. My husband enjoyed the fitness room during our stay. There are also bikes to borrow, but we did not take that opportunity. Overall, a really wonderful stay. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

United StatesLimited parking and parking is a bit of a hassle around Charleston.
From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly. The inn has an old-fashioned feel, but the facilities are modern and the bedroom was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and we really enjoyed the opportunity to sit outside for it. We also enjoyed the nice touch of free wine and port receptions that enhanced the feel on being at an inn. Location could not be better being right in the heart of old Charleston.

United StatesFrom the moment we arrived at The French Quarter Inn in Charleston, we were treated like cherished guests rather than just visitors. The staff is nothing short of exceptional-warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making your stay unforgettable. Every detail here is thoughtful and charming. Breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The afternoon wine and cheese felt like a special treat, and the evening cookies, milk, and coffee were the perfect way to wind down after exploring the city. During our trip, we had an unexpected issue with our next destination. The manager and team at The French Quarter Inn went above and beyond to accommodate us, allowing us to extend our stay without a hitch. Their kindness and quick action turned what could have been a stressful situation into a comforting and memorable experience. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and welcoming-but it’s truly the people here who make the difference. I have nothing but praise for this hotel and its staff. We can’t wait to return!

United KingdomLeaving. Wish we could have stayed longer.
I had written beforehand that our one night stay was a special birthday present for my sister's 70th birthday and my 75th. When we went up to our room there was a beautiful small birthday cake and a bottle of champagne with a welcoming letter from the Manager. This was just one of the high points of staying in this beautiful, personal, hotel. The breakfast was amazing with the highest mountain of smoked salmon, fresh berries and homemade popovers among the selections. A happy hour feast with cheese, charcuterie, fresh and dried fruits, olives and other crudites. And milk, homemade cookies and a glass of port before bedtime. Other family members were staying at a nearby hotel but they were welcomed by staff and encouraged to join us. The knowledgeable concierge booked us into a delightful restaurant on short notice and provided tips to get the most from our only 24 hours in the city. With a pillow menu upon check-in, the best bacon/chili jam I have ever tasted, iced water, lemonade and tea available 24/7, along with fresh fruit and sweets, this is the friendliest and best hotel, more like staying in a large country house with friends. Oh yes, a view overlooking the market and smack dab in the middle of the French Quarter.

United StatesBottled water instead of the canned water would be great for taking on the go when riding the hotel bikes, music playing in the lobby would be nice. The lobby furniture is looking worn.
Our room was very beautiful, and quiet!!! We loved all the extra touches, and attention to details: chilled champagne upon arrival, classical music playing in our room upon arrival, nice welcome note from housekeeping, nightly turn down service, extra towels in room (2 sets per person), complimentary room service for breakfast, nightly cookies & milk, evening charcuterie & wine, the robes were so comfortable. Wonderful housekeeping and staff! The location was perfect!

The location was perfect. It made most all attractions walkable. The breakfast was outstanding; both in the lobby and room service. The beds were extremely comfortable and the hotel was clean and well-appointed.

United StatesGreat breakfast with the option to have it delivered to your room at a specified time or enjoy the breakfast buffet sitting outside or inside., Additionally the hotel has a nice happy hour offering an array of free wines and drinks along with a very nice spread of appetizers. They also provide dessert every evening along with their signature M&Ms. The staff were all very friendly and eager to provide assistance on anything.

United StatesThe lights in the bathroom are dim.
The best part of staying here is the service. From arrival, the valet staff took the luggage to the room, and the front desk staff was amazing. They have breakfast as a buffet, or you can order in your room. There is wine and cheese, and cookies in the evening. The location is perfect. We could walk to many restaurants/stores and the market is just around the corner.

It was a good location. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size. I couldn’t find a single fault from booking in to booking out. First class.
