I wish that the No 1 Elk had been closer to the rest of the property. Others might appreciate the distance, but it would have made it easier to mingle with other guests if my fire pit was with everyone else.

Mg heart truly ached when I had to leave. I wish my one night stay was longer, but being able to stay for just one night was very convenient. The amenities were great. The space felt like home. I would rent this as a monthly stay if the unit had a private bathroom.

I didn't realize the elk tent was set back from the others and not as close to the water. This is my error as it is clear in the photos, though. We weren't able to take advantage of the hammocks due to rain and not drying as they were set under the trees.

The amenities. Air conditioning was a lifesaver after hiking all day in 90+ degree weather. Firewood was provided, so that was also super convenient for an evening fire. Bathrooms were clean, and water pressure was amazing in the showers. As a decoration in the elk tent, there is an elk shed, which was a pleasant surprise to see for a hunter. We absolutely loved it there and will most definitely be back.

The heater couldn't keep up and ended up blowing cold air our second day. I recommend two space heaters. The heated mattress pad cover and electric blanket were awesome but it was so cold in the teepee.

It was super cozy! Loved the fire pit and how secluded it felt.

Something that was a bit out of their control was the heat. But the unit in the bathroom trailer did not cool the area. It was extremely hot.

It was in the middle of nowhere where we could be one with nature, but still have the comforts of home.

not a big deal however the shower & bathroom stall doors are difficult to open (they slide), I would suggest adding handles to the doors

This is the coolest place!! The area is very peaceful. The bed was very comfy, it had a heated topper which was great being that the temps was in the 50's at night. The bathhouses was very clean. we loved it & would stay again!

Wasn't fully prepared for it to be directly on a deck openable and accessible to the outside the fan was hung a little low and so we kept hitting our heads and there were no hooks provided on the TeePee structure bars. There are flood warning signs everywhere as well.

The bed was super comfortable and warm and big the view of the river and watching nature having access to a coffee maker and the heater worked

I would have liked to have met someone in charge. Couldn’t figure out the light. Not a deal breaker.

When we pulled onto the address we were a little scared no signage to how to get to the teepees good news the gravel drive was easy to follow. It was raining as we walked to the teepees again scared as we didn’t want to get wet and cold. Good thing to find and use the key was easy as they said. We stopped to think we may freeze to death to night. Good thing there was a heater and electric blanket. The Great thing I had the best sleep I’ve had in 3 months. Will come again. Would recommend to all R and C

The location. This was our first trip to the red river gorge area. Of course, we had no way of knowing how busy or not— it would be. AND we DID go on a Sunday so that may have made a difference too. However, there WErE plenty of people at the attractions like the sky lift and kayak areas so they had to be staying somewhere. It was just toooooo secluded. We were the ONLY renters there out of the 6-7 teepees. My husband just didn’t feel like it was safe to stay. It IS right in the river— so if we had gotten to stay, that would have been nice. It isn’t close to anything at all. The closest gas station— I THiNK is about 7 miles. There is a couple of campgrounds about 3 miles and a nice place to eat TOADS Barn and Grill. Also—- there is a community of cabins right by the teepees but no one but a couple of cars were there either. The cabins and the teepees are also separated by a little distance and a row of trees. It would be nice is several families were going at once but way too secluded for us by ourselves . Especially since it’s a teepee so technically no lock on the door etc… it would have been neat if we had gotten to stay

Teepee was cute and it seemed clean. There was a portable ac unit but it was still warm inside. However, we were only there for about 30 minutes so it may have not been on very long and would have cooled down eventually so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt.

The bed sheets were stained. The bed frame was stained. The pillow covers had holes in them. There were dead bugs (bees) and water inside by the entrance of the teepee as if it had not been cleaned in a while. The bedding needs to be upgraded.

It's next to the river. There is a fire pit for each teepee and some bench. You have access to a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The mattress was comfortable. There is a portable ac in the room. There is a toilet and shower nearby. They provided 4 bottles of water and everything to do coffee.
