Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe sofa in our room was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have sat on in years. It is nice to have an old Victorian piece of furniture but it should be reconditioned to make it comfortable to sit on.
The historic hotel is very comfortable, small refrigerator in our room, modern bathroom fixtures, and windows that open (unlike big city hotels).

United StatesWhen we walked into our room, it was 80 degrees. Opened up a second window to get somewhat of a cross breeze. No AC. Also windows had no screens so open for any bugs/mosquitoes to enter. Came back to room after it had cooled down outside in the evening. Fortunately had blinds. For what we paid maybe they ought to get some portable AC units to use as needed. Wouldnt have problem venting out thru screenless windows. Since a ski town gets cold there and AC systems may noy make sense. This is where portable units more feasible and cost effective.
They put in a corner room which had a nice view. First time visiting Silverton and would visit again.. The Hotel was nice and had an 1800's vibe.

United StatesWe wished the room had even a small mini fridge, as we were traveling. We also enjoy just making our own simple yogurt/fruit/nut breakfast. We also wished there had been more instructions on use of the TV for our evening pleasure.
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but we did enjoy the complimentary coffee/tea 24 hrs.

United StatesThe serious lack of air conditioning, though they do offer fans, and the paper thin walls. There weee also only a few outlets. You have to go down to the front desk for an extension cord. Night owls or travelers with children be careful, as you’ll have to be whisper quiet in this place. Also not ADA accessible as there are no ramps or elevators, so be prepared to climb stairs.
The history of the property was very clear the minute you walked in the door and it was very clean, well kept, and had very soft linens. The bathrooms are also beautiful with footed tubs and lovely mosaic tiles.

United StatesNeeded more lighting in the hotel itself and an extra nightstand and lamp for other side of bed. We didn't know there was no AC, but we opened window and that worked. Carpet on the floor is not my favorite. Of course not having an elevator and staying on the third floor was not fun.
The history of the place. Very welcoming staff. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. We visited in off season, and it was super quiet. We enjoyed the cafe next door.

United StatesShower curtain was a bit awkward as curtain had to be pulled over the faucet handles and soap dish so had to reach under the curtain to get to shampoo and soap and to adjust the water temperature.
Beautiful historic hotel - updated but still had the authentic heritage feel. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Liked the coffee/water station on the ground floor.

United StatesI will be bringing my own pillows next time. The pillows were pretty hard - reminding me of our time in Ireland this year where there were no good pillows anywhere we stayed. Why can't top hotels replace their pillows more often with softer and more resilient pillows? Costco and Target can make it a reasonable cost for these hotels.
This is a beautiful hotel with excellent views and historic vibe. There was no better place for aspen colors than Silverton this year. We traveled around (including Kebler Pass and Crested Butte) this week with our drive to and from Denver; and the drive between Ouray and Durango, with Silverton being our home base, was the very best. The hotel has the finest, softest sheets and comfy beds, with glorious views of the colorful mountains blanketed in yellows, oranges and reds due to the overwhelming number of aspens in the area. So happy we stayed here.
