It’s too hands off for me. I realize there’s a new F&B relationship afoot, that should inject some enthusiasm. I expect traditional services, completely absent this visit.

The air system has a deep rumbling sound that seems louder than it should be for a room. The toilet was wobbly, uncomfortably so. The shower splashes out of the shower given the design.

The hotel is conveniently located, the sink and mirror are very useful as part of the room and the furnishings are great. Temperature control was great and the bed and linens were comfortable.

The room didn't have a refrigerator or microwave. For the price of the stay and the nice hotel those items should be in the rooms.

The breakfast was good and the people were nice. Location was just where we needed to be.

Our room was not serviced at all even though we did not have a "do not disturb" sign on the door and we were out most of the day. We had to leave our rubbish bin and towels outside our room hoping they would get the hint as there was no one at the reception to ask.

This hotel is without a doubt the best option to stay in the quaint little town. The repurposed old school building was a pleasant surprise, with lots of space in the corridors as well as the rooms. I loved the modern clean design. The room was well laid out and spotless, with lots of privacy. We could park our car directly in front of the hotel.

All features of Hotel Grinnell are generally wonderful, we have stayed multiple times and enjoy our stays. The only disappointment during this past stay was the lack of attention to weekend breakfast (Saturday) when the usual wonderful young lady who is in charge of breakfast had a day off...no one seemed to pay attention to food running out or presentation and much less was offered on a busy weekend:(

Liked everything about the property with the exception of that there was no service at the Periodic Table. We were very excited to come back to the property to settle in after a full day and although there were customers that had seemed to be served, we waited around and no one was available or it was closed, perhaps a seasonal thing. Other normal services did not seem to be in place either and it was actually disappointing as we were looking forward to the normal, wonderful service from the property. If there are changes in services, for seasons or other, I would at least show that in reservation listings so that guests know what to expect...especially when we were excited to show the property to family for the first time.

This hotel is a real gem. We have been traveling cross country and have had to stay in boring, nondescript hotels all along the way - except for Hotel Grinnell! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the whole facility was so charming and clever in its decor. The town of Grinnell is cute and lively. There is a beautiful big park across the street from the hotel and they had a free concert playing that we listened to while eating dinner outside at the hotel restaurant. We were just so surprised to find such a great town and hotel.

The hotel is extremely clean, comfortable and in a great location. It provides a cool, relaxed atmosphere with options for food and fun space for meeting with friends or other guests. We really enjoy the breakfast as it covers everything, and love visiting with the friendly staff. Always look forward to our stays!

Breakfast was pretty lean - they don't have enough staff so one person was taking care of everything, consequently no coffee or fruit available at 9 a.m. until staff was available. Children jumping on/off bunk beds at night on second floor made quite a racket for us on the first floor.

I didn't like how I received a text msg from a staff member telling me they went ahead and canceled my booking before 6pm the day I booked, saying something about me not having a real credit card! It was rude and misleading and very discriminating!
