To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaNeed better coffee in the lobby. Only "light roast". Need something a bit stronger. Really hate all the plastic. Can you use metal cutlery, glasses and coffee mugs so not so much throw away?? Hate having to pay for parking!!
Like the shampoo/conditioner, soap and lotion dispenser (as opposed to those little throw-aways). Just hoping those bigger bottles are refilled and not tossed when empty. Good not to have daily housekeeping. No need. Staff very friendly and courteous.

United States of AmericaI don't know if this is a trend now but paying for parking is terrible especially if the hotel has an accessible parking lot..but at least charge a reasonable price..like $10 a day...and the pillows were too soft..update the pillows to better ones...it was not a restful sleep and the heater was loud...not their fault...but overall good for the money

United States of AmericaShampoo/conditioner were empty; decorative handle on bathroom sink was not properly attached so it was hanging by one screw. Biggest issue - I was charged twice for the room - once through booking.com and once by the hotel. When I called to ask about the dupe charge, I was placed on an excessive hold then told that they couldn’t see my reservation details because I had already checked out. Well guess what? I can’t see the final charge until I’ve already checked out…! Still waiting for the duplicate room charge to be refunded.

United States of Americathe pillows are not very comfortable. if i had normal pillows I could have slept very well, but instead tossed and turned. Also, the overall decor / design feels a little dated, but that's hard to change
our original room 225 (i think) smelled like someone just pooped. we left the door open, and went out for a few hours. came back and it still stank. The front desk employee offered to switch it when i shared this information with her. we then moved to 808 which had no issues
