Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bed was awful, super uncomfortable and hard as a rock. The pull out couch bed should never be considered an option for anyone except a very young child to sleep on. But thankfully we were able to get a roll away bed which helped our older child be able to sleep very well. We on the other hand did not sleep so well.
The hotel is very clean, the pool was fun, the room was nice. When we needed a roll away bed the staff were very accommodating. We have yet to have breakfast but are hoping it’s as good as the reviews have said.

Room a little tired, but was clean. Small set of drawers didn't stay closed & had to be wedged with paper. Bottom sheet didn't fit the bed
Good location to visit Carlsbad Caverns. Well situated in Carlsbad to walk to a chain restaurant. Breakfast was adequate to start the day. All staff encountered very friendly

They offered a variety of options for breakfast that was great for all ages. My kids enjoyed the pool area and was even excited that they offered pool toys to play with. The location was convenient for a quick trip to Walmart next door, or even a quick meal at Chili's in the same parking lot. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a family-friendly option. :)

Hotel had no Christmas decorations anywhere in the public areas or rooms. The famous boat rides for "Christmas on the Pecos" are a major annual attraction to Carlsbad between Thanksgiving and early January. Several hotels outside the Hampton Inn offer 15% discounts to attract customers and entice them to stay longer in Carlsbad. We were very disappointed that the Hampton Inn chose a relative sterile atmosphere with no seasonal decorations. There was no milk to drink for breakfast, just a bit for cereal. Hotel does not have enough chairs for breakfast.
Comfortable bed, quiet and clean room with a bathtub, proximity to the boat rides "Christmas on the Pecos", American and continental breakfast choices. Hotel has a heated indoor pool that was used and enjoyed by several kids while we were there.

Our room was located on the 4th floor. When we walked down the hall towards our room there were several spots in the floor that seemed to be weak. Definitely needs to be checked out. Next when we entered our room several of the drawers were standing open which makes you wonder why and if this room was throughly cleaned.
Staff was friendly. Breakfast was typical breakfast but was tasty. Bed was comfortable.

The breakfast was great not too big or small just perfect in the middle. Pool area was nice. Location was nice next to a Walmart and a Chili's for shopping and dinning out.

Our room had recently been occupied by a smoker, and this was extremely obvious - it really smelled like smoke. I see why they saved it to be the last room rented out. I would have liked to have been informed of this before we booked, but we would have taken it anyway
Location was great! We reserved on just a few hours' notice and got the last couple of rooms for the day. We arrived very late (midnight), but someone was there to greet us no problem.

Hidden behind a gas station restaurant and car wash. We got there at night so we drove right by it and had to find it.
