How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The air conditioning system felt quite old and could use an update. The seating in the kitchen area was also very outdated and would benefit from being replaced.
The location was very convenient, and I really appreciated having complimentary coffee and tea available at all times. The complimentary breakfast was also nice. The staff were very kind, helpful, and welcoming – thank you!

We were placed in room 228, facing the loud, busy street. It’s sad because we had anticipated being able to sleep in and relax. Didn’t happen in this loud room.
We liked the breakfast and the service was wonderful. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. The staff at the breakfast went above and beyond.

The AC controls were funky; I tried the wall-mounted thermostat, with NO results. Turns out the unit was controlled from the actual AC unit. The old-fashioned way...
Breakfast was complete and I enjoyed the fresh fruit in particular. Loved the location as it was a straight shot to my family's residence and into Scottsdale.

Our tv kept freezing and we were informed that the sensor for Direct TV was disconnected and that was causing our tv to only have one channel. The king sized bed was a bit hard to sleep on. Wish it was layered with another comforter or had more padding

It’s impossible to close the blackout curtains! Light came into the room all night long through the sheer curtains above the air conditioner. The furniture showed signs of wear and impact marks from years of use and abuse. The corridors had a chemical smell. The air conditioner was noisy. The stairs are as far from the elevators as possible, which makes it inconvenient for people who prefer to take the stairs.
The location couldn’t be better. It’s close to Papago Park, Phoenix Zoo, and other attractions. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful and hardworking.

All staff was nice / friendly except when we checked in - she was rude….bad way to start our stay.

The carpet in the room was dirty with stains and there is a little mildew in the shower. The heat in the room was difficult to keep in a comfortable range. Also for me the bed was a little hard and gave me shoulder aches.
The breakfast was good with good variety. There are not enough tables but there is a large table that seats about a dozen if you don't mind sitting with people you don't know.

A few more decorations in the big room would have been nice. No comments on room size and bathroom size.
We chose this hotel for a one-night stay after a long flight to Phoenix airport. It is conveniently located, just a few minutes from the airport parking lot. The room was spacious and well maintained. A little bare, but with a nice big bathroom.
