Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWould love diverse menu at the restaurant and a better gym. The rooms are bit of hit and miss. Very dark on some of the rooms (stayed here twice with my colleagues).
A cool boutique hotel for Minneapolis. The staff are super friendly and facilities are good.

United StatesRestaurant options for food, or even just one main course dish that's vegan friendly. The drink menus are different from the rooftop bar to the restaurant. So if you fall in love with an upstairs drink, you probably can't get it at the restaurant.
It's a very nice hotel. We go for the rooftop pool (basically a hot tub) and the sauna. Their restaurant is also delicious, although they don't have a ton of vegan options on the menu. You can pay for the chef to make you a meal though which is a plus!

United StatesThe Hewing was a wonderful place to spend our anniversary. It's location is the best: it's a lively area with lots of restaurants and unique shops. The sauna and hot tub on the roof were a treat in the cold temperatures. And we had a great breakfast and dinner on site. We were able to walk around the city easily as well.

United StatesRestaurant was a bit pricey but kind of expected that. The portions were a little small for the dinner menu...but again didn't expect an entire plate of food. The food we had was amazing, so can't complain there.
Stayed on 3/30/24 and everyone was amazing. Staff, Valet, restaurant staff were extremely friendly and nice. The rooftop pool/hot tub was perfect. It reads it holds 16, I think, but it could easily hold 25. It was heated to 102 degrees and there was a waitress coming around for drink orders. There is a sauna on the way to the pool the was top notch. It even had a pale of water with a ladle so you could scoop the water and pour over the hot rocks for all the steam you could want. The key card is made of wood...kind of a boogie feel. :) 12 noon checkout was nice !

United StatesThe parking situation is sparse to say the least, but if they do have vallet parking for those who don’t mind paying the extra fee for less hassle. There are plenty of parking options only a block or so away for cheaper so if you don’t mind walking a block then that’s a good cheaper alternative to vallet.
Location is great, facilities and amenities were spectacular. The restaurant Tulibee had an incredible breakfast/brunch and would recommend booking a reservation with them if you plan on staying at the Hewing.

United StatesThe jets in the rooftop hot tub, which is why we picked this hotel in the first place, were out of order. The staff didn't even bother mentioning it or didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. There were a number of other small things too that just added up to just a decent visit, not the excellent visit we had hoped for. For example, the hot and cold water in the room was hard to regulate in the shower and the sink. The mini fridge also kicked on every 10-15 minutes and made a rattling noise that made it annoying while we were trying to sleep. Last, the pillows were great but the mattress was meh. We wound up waking up with sore backs.
Good location in the North Loop near lots of eating choices, plus close to Target Field and a Whole Foods. The rooftop bar is also nice, but there are no outdoor heaters to allow sitting outside. Plus, the rooftop hot tub and sauna are nice, but only if the hot tub jets are working.

United StatesThe professionalism of the staff does not match the beauty and regality of the hotel itself. The staff was surprisingly lacking in very basic hospitality skills. The valet, for example, did not have detailed information about overnight parking; when I called ahead to ask about local spa options, the front desk person did not have any knowledge about the local amenities. Although we made a reservation for two people, the room was fitted out for one person (one set of towels; one robe - when I called to request a second robe they brought a different type of robe and it had a hole in it and was missing the belt). The wifi password that was given was incorrect. These are very nit picky comments but I was very surprised by the experience.
The aesthetics of the hotel are overwhelmingly beautiful, including the arrival experience, the rooms themselves and the rooftop sauna and pool. The skyline view from the pool is to die for.
