How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe could not into the house when we arrived because the code did not work. It was very quick response to help us enter with the correct code. There was no heat in the house and it was 53 degrees in the morning. It was very uncomfortable. It was well laid out and well appointed. It was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to friends and family.

When we came back from dinner the whole house smelled like weed. It was awful. I believe it was coming from the attached suite. The smell didn’t go away until morning but we started to smell it again as we were leaving.

Verified reviewThe house is a good size for a family of four, bedrooms were roomy, kids loved that they got a bigger bed for once. Kitchen was laid out nicely. Couches were quite deep and comfy.
Sheets in the master bedroom hadn't been changed (eyelashes on the pillow case) but I found it too late and wasn't going to be texting anyone after 9 pm. They sent over clean sheets the next day. No oven, which seems weird for a house, just a multi functional air fryer/toaster oven. Signs all over the front yard to clean up after your pet but there was poop there from someone else's pet and no one picked that up before we got there, so the signs seemed redundant. We were requested to keep the thermostat at 75 because of the studio on the other side, which should really have it's own system because who sleeps with it that warm?

Verified reviewCentral location with ability to hang out and play games on porch. Comfortable place, great kitchen, nice little touches throughout home. Nice Starbucks coffee in the morning. Fit our family perfectly. Easy access. Saw wild elk roaming the neighborhood .

Verified reviewIt was a cute house with enough room! And had what we needed.
When we first walked in the house wasn’t the cleanest. The floors weren’t swept or mopped in a while the rug in living room had crumbs. The sink in the kitchen had food from the previous person and the fridge was dirty. We thought it was the whole house we didn’t know the back of the house is a suite for someone else to stay in! So the first night when we were going to bed we could hear someone trying to get into the house which scared my kids. I opened the door and told them they were probably looking for the door on the side of the house. The next morning we are getting ready and hear someone trying to get into the house I open the door and it’s another lady saying she booked the house! After she left housekeeping had to come in and get supplies for the suite to clean. We rented a whole house or what we thought was a whole house so that we wouldn’t be bothered.

Verified reviewThis property is very comfortable and well stocked for a weekend getaway. The beds, couch, and dining areas were lovely.
At no fault of the neighboring guest suite, we could hear everything from next door: laundry, conversations, footsteps….No one disrespected the noise rule, but the thin walls made it difficult to sleep. My son woke before 6am thinking someone was in his room, but it was just common everyday sounds through thin, thin walls.

Verified reviewFront patio was nice and comfortable for a group of six (although there were only five chairs on the patio so we had to use a chair from the dining table).
The home is divided and shared with a suite (3-bedroom one side, studio? on the other). The walls are PAPER THIN. From 10:00pm past midnight we could hear every word of the conversation of the other renters through the walls. Backyard gate was inoperable from the front. We had to reach over and open from the inside. The grounds were a dirty MESS, and very neglected. Should the tenants want to use the backyard, they are not allowed on the back patio, as that is reserved for the suite guests. It would be very awkward to share the same space, as there is NO PRIVACY whatsoever. Nothing in the yard was in clean usable condition so we didn't even entertain the idea of trying to use the backyard. There is no oven (only a countertop mini-oven) in the three-bedroom unit. A/C is controlled remotely. Both nights the A/C increased to 78 degrees. Much too warm to be comfortable. The absolute worst part of the experience was the communication following our check-out. We were texted stating that the dog had made a mess of the room and there were dog poop stains on a blanket. (The dog had his own bedding from home. The blanket was not used, as the temperature inside the unit was too warm at night.) I would happily take responsibility for any dog damages, and was completely shocked to recieve a text with false claims. I understand it's a case of he said/she said, their word against mine, but there was never an attempt to clarify or seek understanding. The fact is, I was falsely accused and threatened with action of "filing a complaint" with booking.com. I asked to speak with the owner, so we could discuss and resolve the concerns, but only received text messages. I was told that housekeeping took before and after pictures of the furnishings, so I requested to see the photos. The photos were never received. This whole experience really felt like I was being scammed by the owner, wanting to get more money for something that never occurred.
A HOST’S WORST NIGHTMARE!!!! In our defense we would like to clarify and address several of the false accusations that this guest has made. 1. This guest will do anything and everything to scam the host out of having to pay the pet fee. He stated his daughter and finance who have a small dog would only be staying at the home for a total of 24 hour and the dog does not shed at all and will have his own bed and is extremely well trained. Don’t fall for their lies!!! he will request a reduced dog fee. although it requires us to perform extra cleaning and sanitation for such bookings regardless of the dog stays for 1 night for 5 nights. We were nice enough to try and accommodate him and his family, only to discover what a nightmare their dog really was. Not only was there no dog bed but the our comforters filled with dog hair, the dog pooped all over the white blanket. Which we now have to replace. Then when we reached out he got aggressive and started threatening us. 2. The guest also should consider getting some bifocals as there are 6 chairs in the front patio so not sure how he counted 5. 3. The house rules clearly state that the back yard is not included. It looks like he decided to ignore them and take it upon himself to trespass anyway. 4. The before and after pictures of not only the soiled poop blanket but all the other filth he left in our home have been provided to booking.com along with a request that this guest not be allowed to book with us again. 5. These people have no adequate at all. They are used to living in filth and disrespect everyone else’s home the same way. 6. The website clearly states that there is a large air fryer toaster oven. We never claim to have a full size over so to complain that there was no oven for the sake of complaining is very unprofessional. Maybe if they spent some time reading rather then trying to rip hosts off would be beneficial for them. 7. They then tried to mess around with the thermostat so they can get more money out of us. Thankfully we have the best thermostat that allows us to monitor the activity remotely. The HVAC worked despite of their constant attempts to break it.
