Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Saudi ArabiaThe reception should keep some umbrellas for the guests.
We are a family with 2 teenage daughters, and we booked a room with 2 queen beds which was enough for us. Very good location in Alexandria.

NetherlandsA very big disappointment is breakfast. For years is the same. Where is some improvement for the buffet bar, to pick up your dishes (cheeses, salami, hams etc; bread is nothing else but sweet bread, more like biscuits; regular bread would make a change). Coffee is only in big chunks, only americana style, no espressos no cappuccinos or other types of coffees. Why wouldn’t put a heating machine to bake own waffles by guests. Why don’t you just put the cutleries on tables, as guests are forced to wait for them, before they are able to eat other dishes, e.g. cooked oat. What about warm milk for flaks, what about other ingredients like nuts etc for oat and flakes. Just cranberries, brow sugar(?) and sweetened crispy flaks for oat? What happened? Fruits: only two types of melons available…. I could list issues for some time. Oh, one poor lady to jump around guests in a way how breakfasts are organised. If I picked something from the buffet, like butter and bread, I am charged for using the buffet with 10$? Wow! And warm meals are only eggs in 10+ ways, what about other warm meals? What about making scrambled eggs and putting them on warm space for guests to take them or not, and offer few options. You have to change your breakfast offer, or you will not see me there again.

United States of AmericaThe hotel charged us over $39 for parking even though we walked there from the train station and made it clear we had no car. We were also credited for no parking on our receipt. We owed zero. The charge came through on the card I had left for incidentals anyway and I had to call to correct. No apology. It’s a scam to watch out for.
This was a great location near the Amtrak station. It was quiet. We slept well.

Beautiful location on the main street in Alexandria. A short walk or free bus towards the metro station, with easy access to downtown Washington. The hotel is beautiful, comfy rooms and beds.

United States of AmericaI did not receive the room that I had booked. Reserved a King and received a double Queen, was not informed at check in that they were overbooked on King rooms and had to wait until I got into the room to find out. Tried to call down to the front desk but the phone in the room did not work so I went in person. Explained the phone not working and was told it would be address by the next day and not only was it not addressed the next day but was never fixed the entire 4 night stay. Just meant I had to walk down to valet to have my car brought around. Bar/Restaurant was closed for all but breakfast (Covid staffing). Did not ruin the stay but were just things that could have gone better.
Great location within easy walking distance to the Train Station (Amtrak & DC Metro) as well as the free King Street Shuttle and transit bus routes. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and tried to accomodate.
