Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIssues with streaming/wifi made it impossible to watch tv in room. Should offer Directv in addition to streaming. Asked multiple times for laundry bags & never got any
Great location. Easy to get to waterfront, DC. Breakfast was decent, but pricey compared to better alternatives nearby. Staff was courteous & friendly. Room was fine & comfortable. Bar/happy hour food was nice. Convenient checkout time. Alexandria Old Town is a great place, especially the riverfront area

United States of AmericaCleanliness. We got to our room and after starting to unpack, I noticed a pair of woman’s panties in the left side cubby under the sink. They said they would give us an upgrade because of the issue, but their were no ‘upgrades available’. They just moved us to a different floor. Not expecting it, but maybe would’ve been nice to possibly get a % off our room🤔 I think the rooms, hallways and such could use a deep cleaning. The carpet on our floor was ‘lumping together’ in the middle. Just didn’t feel as clean as in the past.

United States of AmericaRoom and facility not up to the standard of other similarly priced hotels in the area, or what I would expect from Hilton Garden. There are too many better-quality hotels in Old Town Alexandria for us to stay here again.
Location was good, staff was helpful.

United States of AmericaElevators were being fixed all weekend and not usable. We carried our bags up and down 3 flights of stairs every day. Did not like $37 a day to park our vehicle because no other real options existed. Valet was not friendly. Breakfast not included nor the option to buy a package that included breakfast. TV in room was smaller than most. Staff was kind but didn’t seem to know the answers to some of our questions about the area or the hotel offerings. Like that there was a Whole Foods one block away. We discovered ourselves but they did not mention when we inquired about where to find food. Hotel snack area was extremely expensive.
Location was quiet and close to everything we needed. Staff was courteous and helpful.

The location was perfect, the hotel lobby was very nice and the staff was amazing. There is a Whole Foods in Walking distance and DC is 15 minutes in light traffic .

United States of AmericaWe only found one thing about our room that needed correcting, and that was a loose toilet seat. I'm sure that if we had reported it, the staff would have taken care of it. Breakfast was just okay and a bit pricey.
The staff at the front desk was awesome. We dealt with four different people during our stay. All were exceptionally nice and responded to any of our requests promptly. The location of the hotel was great, just two blocks from the Metro which we used to go to the Smithsonian and two blocks from the free trolley which provides transportation up and down King St which we used to return from dinner near the harbor.

United States of AmericaAC filter was mentioned by another guest checking out as being "time to replace" as an alert on the thermostat and our room had the exact same issue. Seems like an obvious intentional oversight hotel wide at that point. For a hot July weekend AC was kind of a big deal. TV (and yes this is not a big deal) has images burned into it as if it were quite old and left on one channel for a very long time. Very little "local" information available.
Location was fine. Easier to manage than more deep into old town. Staff was lovely. Check In and out was easy as was valet parking. Had nearly always available ICE water in the lobby - was a very hot weekend so this was really nice to have.

United States of AmericaWhen we arrived we received keys to a room…we went to the room and another guest was in the room! We had to go back to the registration desk and get reassigned to another room. The registration staff member was not competent, and he spoke limited English. When I returned to the front desk to request a new room, he didn’t remember that I had checked in just 5 minutes earlier. Valet parking is $47/day, by the way.
Good location.
