Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere was what appeared to be blood stains on the box spring drapes. There was stains on some of the sheets. There was stains of something being sprayed on the ceiling. They put me on a floor with loud construction that started first thing in the morning. The wifi signal was weak.

United States of AmericaWe had an awful experience with the last Hilton that we stayed with in Hartford and won't be staying with Hilton again. We checked in with our dog and no one at the front desk mentioned the pet policy or tried to explain the rules on pets. So, we assumed that we had already paid our pet fee based on that interaction. Then, we spent our two days in Hartford, bringing the dog out with us in front of the front desk team (again, no one stopped us to mention the dog, any issues, or a fee). After the second day (Sun) we were woken up because someone pulled the fire alarm. Then, after we had just started to get back to sleep, I got an alert on my phone that we were being charged $345 by Hilton. I went downstairs to the front desk to ask about it, and was told that we were being charged a pet fee ($75) plus the amount that the GM had to compensate other guests for a supposed noise complaint. I would not have an issue if they had tried to get in touch with us prior to charging, but they did not. They said that the phone number on file wasn't working, but they also didn't bother to send an email, chat via Booking, or even just leave a note by our door. It seemed like the least possible effort was made by the hotel team, and the GM was incredibly rude while talking to me about the situation. Also, he lied, saying that he helped check us in and didn't see the dog (he did not in fact check us in, it was a regular desk staff member, who definitely did see the dog). We were also allowed by the hotel bar staff to take the dog downstairs with us and spend several hours at the bar with our dog there, quietly sleeping in my lap for the most part. All of this is of course on lobby and bar cameras, but the GM was unwilling to review footage with or without us present to verify his stated issues.

United States of AmericaEverything! Booking.com told us we had a roo with two queen beds (we are all over 5’9”) for our daughters college drop off and it was two double beds which is horrid. Crowd at hotel was loud, last night manager was still shouting at the top next door to us at 3am - maybe 4.
Not much. It is an old hotel with mostly unfriendly staffing

United States of AmericaWhen we checked in we were given the incorrect room number and as a result we tried go into an occupied room. We were were woken at 7am by the staff loudly working in the hallway. We went and asked them to quiet down and they did for a bit. Then they knocked on the door just before 11am to ask if we were checking out when the check out time was noon.
The location was fantastic. Donna, the bartender is amazing!

New ZealandWe booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool. That was listed as open. We paid more than we wanted just for that. We turned up and it was closed for maintenance. We have two small children who have been stuck in a car for days and the kids needed it. We requested a partial refund. They agreed to a $50 credit. The following morning while packing our things the curtain rail fell down. Our young kids (1 and 3) standing a foot from it. God knows what could have happened if they had been hit. We told them as we checked out that the rail had fallen. About an hour later we noticed that about $600USD had been deducted from our account in addition to our room cost. We called them and they explicitly said that they do not care, and that we had trashed the room and broken a lamp. None of which happened and they refused to show us any evidence, because there was none. They blatantly lied to us. We even had a photo from around the time we checked out showing that the room was not trashed. They took the money from our account without notification or even an invoice. We have notified Hilton customer service. The staff at this hotel were absolutely appalling. Useless at their jobs, and then scamming us at the end. We have often chosen Hilton in the past. We will not be doing so going forward. Hilton Hartford is the worst possible choice you can make for your holiday.

United States of AmericaThe room I was in was organized but not clean. I could tell the grout in the shower hadn’t been cleaned in some time. The pool had dirt lined across the entire length, it looked like possible mold. Our daughter didn’t want to stay in it. The amount of chlorine was also overpowering. This was the worst Hilton I have stayed in.
