Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesPoor water pressure in shower. Only 1 wash cloth in bathroom, poor lighting in room- need overhead lighting. Very expensive and no complementary breakfast. For the cost I expect excellence. Too many extra fees and cost. Received drink coupons, I don’t drink so not of any value.

United KingdomI thought some of the reception staff could be smarter & weren't wearing uniform. The breakfast buffet was large, we had vouchers but were still presented with a bill which was a bit embarrassing. The hotel straddles an alley, so getting to breakfast was a trek.
The hotel's best feature is the location, although Seattle is very hilly, most attractions are within 6 or 7 blocks [eg Pike's Place market/Starbucks]. We flew in through SEA and used the light rail [$3 each] to get to Westlake Station, used the elevators then it was only 2 slightly inclined blocks to hotel. (You can also use the monorail from there to get to the Space Needle [$4, get there for it opening @11am to avoid the big queues later in the day]). Room was fine, with a sofa but not serviced daily. It had a room safe, walk-in shower & fridge.

United StatesCharge for early check in was ridiculous. We were 2 hours early and the rooms were clean and ready but the charge was $25 to check in early. This is the reason I primarily stay at Marriott brand hotels, early check in and late check out is free if the room is available and ready. Extra daily resort fees are also high.

United StatesI expected a little more friendliness. I came in from a cruise around 11 am. Gave a shot and tried to check in and was greeted with a tart “come back at 4:00pm”. 😖. Not expecting that from a service industry front personnel in an unfamiliar city. However, the dining waitress was personable, friendly and pleasant when we had dinner at the Flolick.

CanadaThey do not have amenities such as a toothbrush, robe, or hair blower (we needed to ask for hair blower but they didn’t have toothbrush). There were hidden charges too. They had mandatory $20/day fee that was supposed to give us $10 credit and free drink at restaurant but the restaurant server didn’t recognize the $10 credit :/ given we paid $500 CAD a day for staying here, overall experience was not worth it.

United StatesRoom was HOT and had to wait for a person to come and fix the air conditioning. Then someone came with a fan that I had to find an outlet and plug in. It was midnight with all this was happening. The girl that answered the phone told us there wasn't anything they could do. I told her that was not going to work for me. The guy that came up said we could change rooms. I said its midnight, we have to get up early, we are very tired now and my husband is blind. Too much stuff to move.
The guy at the desk the next morning gave us $20 off. Could have sure been more.
