How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is a portable air conditioner in the room that is very loud. I had to turn it off before I could fall asleep. (But even in the desert without air conditioning, it is still cool enough to sleep on summer nights.)

The pool was disappointing. No sun beds, tiny towels, spa out of service.
Room was large and comfortable. Convinient location for Joshua Tree National Park. Breakfast was ok.

Decor a little basic but still good overall
Good location, good value for money. Clean and well equipped rooms. Pool area was good. Staff friendly. Breakfast was good for price.

Traffic noise in the evening and morning. Suggest getting a room in the back side of the property. Staff seemed indifferent.

Hot tub not working, pool was FREEZING! Knowing it gets chilly at night why would you not have a heated pool or use a solar cover...SOMETHING! I felt sorrynfor.the kids. The remote to the TV was not user friendly and the assesibility menu kept coming on and could not get it off, and if I brought my Roku, I would not be able to set it up.
I liked the breakfast, was clean with some updates, my housekeeper, didn't get her name she was a tall black lady, the desk attendant who checked me in who is also a black female and Adrian grounds keeper!

You get what you expect with Holiday express and we like reliability. The breakfast was even better than expected. So in case we want to visit Joshua Tree again, we will again book this hotel

Great location near Joshua Tree National Park. All in all a great stop for a one nighter on a road trip like we did. Nothong luxurious, but has everything you need. Breakfast was standard but quite good, shower took a very long time to warm up

The refrigerator made so much noise in the night that we had to turn it off. There was no water at breakfast unless you went into the gym. The front parking lot was closed and the key cards didn’t work the first night we were there. The breakfast wasn’t the best and not the worst. Eggs and sausage were not good. Biscuits and oatmeal were good!
Location was great. Beds and space in the room was nice. Bathrooms very clean and comfortable.

Housekeeping failed to come in and clean on the second day that we were there and refresh our towels, etc. The toilet is so far to the ground it is ridiculous for anyone to get down on the toilet and back up again without assistance of some kind, it’s a real balancing act The breakfast menu left a lot to be desired, food was way overcooked
The location was perfect, and the layout of the room was very good. It was clean most of the time.

Location great for visiting National Park. Probably best hotel in town. Breakfast left much to be desired. No toaster for bagels or sponge bread they offered.

It was expensive for a fairly basic hotel, though close to Thanksgiving which probably boosted prices. Would have been good to have a highchair in the breakfast restaurant. You can't really walk anywhere from there, you need to drive the mile or so into 29 Palms and restaurants etc. There's a supermarket across the street but very tricky to get there on foot.
Very welcoming staff. Great warm pool and hot tub. We had a big room with 2 queens which was comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids. Great black-out blind. Decent breakfast.
