The only suggestion I have is to put dishes in the kitchen that can be used in a microwave. None of the dishes in the kitchen can go in the microwave safely. I had to kind of heat up things in different ways because I didn't want to ruin Melody's melamine dishes and plastic containers. Those things will melt or crack and break. I did let her know about that and she is planning to get some microwaveable dishes. There was nothing else not to like .. it's a wonderful place to stay! :-)

We used a door code to get into the house. This was nice because we did get there a bit early. The host, Melody, was fine with us being there early. We appreciated that! We drove 6 hours to get there. The house was very nice inside, there are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The bathrooms were great because my son and I didn't have to share. We each had our own. The washer/dryer unit was great and the beds were comfortable. There were complimentary snacks and toiletries. I had forgotten to bring lotion so I was very happy with that. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils of every kind, spices, paper towels, dishes, pots and pans, baking pans, coffee mugs, and a bit of everything. I had asked in advance if there was a Keurig machine and there was so I was able to bring my own coffee pods. The kitchen island was nice and had comfy chairs to sit around it. It is a bit isolated out where the house is located. To get to the Mammoth Caves Visitor Center took about 40 minutes. The nearest little town is Brownsville and that takes about 20 minutes to get to from the house. The area is very beautiful with Nolin River Lake Dam just down the road a few minutes. There is a back patio that is very nice. It has chairs and looks into some trees. At the side of the house is a fire pit. On the patio is a container with cushions and extra camp chairs to use if you have several people. There are some cats that live in the area around the house. They must belong to someone because they were very friendly and let us pet them. We saw three of them during the time we were there. Very sweet! The restaurant at the main road that you turn into to come to the house, The Lakeside Cafe, is very good. Bonnie, was a sweetheart and her food is so good! She makes everything homemade. My son had the french toast casserole, which I tasted, and it was amazing! I had the hashbrown cobbler, which I had never heard of .. also fantastic! Everything is made from scratch and locally sourced.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

We loved the location and the serenity. It was close to anything we wanted to see. We will book this again to go to places like the the Corvette Museum
